I'd laugh if the people he bought it from just went and set up another website, although I'm guessing there's a clause in the buy out that prevents such a thing?

It won't go under for a while anyway, and there will be alternatives, just like always, because people are thirsty for the news (in 140 characters or less) or their celebrities happenings.

Early signs of the changes Musk wants to make seem to be less about free speech, or a fight against censorship, and more about “here’s the 10 different ways I’m going to start charging you to use this platform”.
Could be a good long game from Musk though, he’s got a load of trump-types on board that he’s gonna “destroy the libs”, and they’re now gonna willingly hand over their money to him.
