Or not being passed.Currently losing his mind over some bill being passed...
President Musk wants the government shut down until King Donald I's coronation.New bill not passed! Some republicans with backbone? Or is it different self serving?

Anyone thinking we are anywhere close to the high water of populist revolt in the West are deluding themselves. To quote Karen Carpenter 'we've only just begun'.
I used 'populist revolt' deliberately. Both left and right wing populism are emerging. I think right wing populism will be much the stronger but the door is open for left wing populism too. Wether right wing populism descends into more extreme form is also possible.“Populist revolt” lol
This is just one long, well-funded attempt by guilty men to pre-emptily divide the mob that they fear will hang them all eventually.

The thing is these populist movements were all made 10x stronger by the Western political class of the past few decades.

Surely it's not a case of having a "left populist" to counter the right populists when the core problem of populists is that they've historically been free to talk out of their bunghole because they never get close to power. If anything, they make the challenge facing non-populists that much harder because they convince the electorate of the unobtainable. A left populist would probably promise to spend a billion pounds on Vinicious and Riquelme, whereas a right populist would promise to win the league by buying up the entire England team. Both are talking nonsense, but they both have an air of attractiveness about them.I disagree with the first bit, the right wing groups are almost all lavishly funded fake movements that might win an election but lack the genuine political support to survive the failure that they will end up as.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone because they are of course largely staffed by the same sort of professional political people who form the Western political class you rightly criticize.
The left populists are a bit more difficult to predict; if they move down the route that Corbyn et al want (of new national movements) then they’ll probably fail, but if instead they look at 2024 and identify that what worked was entirely local, independent candidates not affiliated with anyone else then I think there’s much more future in that. I mean, after the “populist” RW fails again and people realise how much they’ve been lied to they will unify and representatives loyal only to their own constituents is where they’ll end up.
