I may have been off quite a bit with this post. I think I underestimated the value of Musk's private companies such as SpaceX. He'll be a trillionaire within a year or two at this rate.

Oh, and thanks to the idiot on here who tried to convince me to sell my Tesla shares a few months back. They told me the bubble was about to burst. It's up around 70% since the election alone. And yes, it's Tesla; I fully realise it can drop 20% at the drop of a hat.

My biggest ‘fear’ with Tesla share price is how badly it would be affected in the event something happened to him. Be that some bad PR or something more insidious.
It’s far to attached to his personality cult that based in the real word imho.

I also think it’s only a matter of time before he comes unstuck.
Don’t care how rich you are, you can’t carry on the way he is and not get a huge target o your back.
Getting into slanging matches with nation states / heads of state won’t be tolerated in the long term.

Yes, this is a major concern. Though I'd rate Democratic Party inspired lawfare as my main concern over anything Musk related. The party still controls much of the legal power in many states.

Iran, Russia or Brazil attempting to physically take out Musk I'd place at, say, a 10-20% chance of occurring. The likelihood of the Dem Party trying to take him down some way or another are almost guaranteed.

You are exactly right, but I think your reasoning for the change in heart is misguided.

Like every sociopath they come across as a nice person, they look like they are doing good and somebody you can trust. Then one day the mask slips and people start to see the real person behind the mask. You would hope that it would be seen straight away but some people are still fooled, or at least too far in to get out in time.

Wasn't talking about investments, I was talking about the person. You stated the media loved Musk, I was referring to that.

I think there was this overriding feeling that he was a genius, I guy that was doing the right thing but as I said the mask slipped. People don't like him now because they see the real person.

In terms of great investments, only time will tell. As it was mentioned before the company worth is too much in the hands of this guy. There is a good chance that a personality like his will get found out, not a overriding certainty but in the modern world there is always the chance that something will be leaked about him or something will happen that will bring it all down within a matter if days, if not hours. I suppose that is the stock market, it is a betting market, it is gambling. There is a risk and reward factor to it.

I guess I’m fairly left wing but I’m not fussed on Avocados. Taste a bit bland and soggy to me. Never really understood the appeal
