Its a familiar theme in the:
2024 Potus
Israel
Trump
Musk

Threads. Clueless people raging about things they dont understand due to the media...brainwashed, abusive & filled with hate.

Thats the way it goes nowadays but luckily the tide has started to turn👍
I will be honest 'boys', if you are going to cheer on the death of 20,000 children and a rapist racist ... you're making yourselves fair game.

I mean wouldn't most investors want some sort of return?

I mean, maybe connections I suppose.

FWIW I think a lot of people invest of Musk because of a cult of personality, who see him as a visionary. I always think that's a bit alarming anyway. But also, as I think I've said previously I'm not really as taken in by these big tech Innovations as electric cars and the like. But I do understand the rationale of people who are buying the hype. It's a story as old as time

Im sure 'most' investors if were going on numbers are retail and so would either see a long term upside or a long term vision and being 'part of it' as their goal.

Thats typically the stupid money.

If you are an institutional investor of significant size then ask yourself what other reasons you may have for investing.

Personally it would either be access or positioning my company to align with this type of vehicle, or both.

He's a disgusting man and he's facilitated Trump and the right wing with his involvement in X.

This is the one criticism of Musk I do have a bit of a problem with - the far right has always been on Twitter, and Twitter usually did very little about them. If anything Musk running it in the way he has has made the case against it (and social media generally) far more effectively than anything else has; people are doing something about it now and hopefully the necessary legal changes can come in.

Sorry but if the point you're making is that giving the right wing a bigger and more algorithm heavy platform is a good things because it's allowing people to go recognise it and shut it down...then it's a silly point.

Twitter did start clamping down on it so Musk bought it and reinstated banned accounts whilst limiting Palestinian and similar accounts.

Good luck policing that!
THe best I could do was ban my kids having their phones in bed until they were 16. It caused huge fights every night but they got some sleep - meanwhile, their phones were pinging all night cos their friends had their phones!

For a start he bought it, he wasn't given it. Secondly people were not doing anything about it before, even though the racism was as present when it was Twitter as it is now as X. Finally I didn't say shut it down, I said make legal changes.

It (and Facebook, Tiktok and everything else at that scale) should be as responsible for anything that it publishes as a newspaper is.

It feels like you're deliberately misinterpreting what I'm saying. I didn't say he was given twitter. I'm saying he has given the right wing more platform which he has because he's reinstated accounts that were banned and changed the algorithm in their favour.

By shut it down I don't mean close X, I mean to shun, call out etc.
