I've met a lot of successful people, and you don't have to be intelligent to be successful.

Elon Musk's handling of COVID-19, I remember him calling the virus 'just a flu' and dismissed pandemic precautions as “fascist,” which showed a stunning disregard for public health expertise. I also distinctly remember him talking about COVID being over by April 2020 when every single public epidemiologist at the time disagreed with him.

He has effectively replaced the 'Year of the Linux Desktop' meme with the promise that Tesla’s cars will be fully autonomous 'next year' - something he’s been saying since 2016. Engineers in the machine learning/autonomous driving field have repeatedly pointed out that his time lines are wildly optimistic, but he keeps insisting on them anyway - indicating that he probably doesn't understand any of the technical hurdles that are in the way.

I listened to a podcast awhile ago where they talked about his leadership at PayPal - and how he was removed as CEO while on his honeymoon because his decisions - including forcing his engineers to adopt tech (like dropping Unix for Microsoft Server when NT was in its infancy).

That habit has followed him from company to company, whether he’s making false claims about election rigging or casually throwing out a baseless 'pedo guy' accusations that land him in a defamation cases.

Musk also seems to have little self-control - tweeting enough wham to disrupt markets and invite multiple SEC investigations. For example, he’s had to pay millions in fines over his infamous 'funding secured' tweet, which had no basis in reality.

To me, calling Musk an idiot isn’t about ignoring his wealth - it’s about recognising a consistent pattern of impulsive, overconfident, and irrational behaviour. For a person in his position, his habit of ignoring technical realities, making wildly unrealistic claims, and disregarding expert advice doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in his judgement or intelligence.

Ive heard hes a nice guy who was very generous, interesting and knowledgeable & loved the women...from someone who met him a number of times in their youth.

I think hes a bit of an oddball.

How is that throwing a vast blanket, it's as specific as you can get, given the main argument against trans is bloody scientific in terms of chromosomes.
