My Jeep got optimal mileage at about 120kmh (~80mph) for what it's worth, but big engine and all that.

Decent in Sofia, highways have a few charging stations (at bigger places) nowadays, and growing. Usually a few in just about any town - shops like Lidl/Kaufland/Billa have parking lot chargers too, even if it's just a few. You don't have to big brain plan to drive across the country like, and a lot of people are switching to full electric because of it. Right now though ELECTRIC VEHICLE (because "the ЕV" turns to "Everton" FFS) prices are utterly stupid so make of that what you will lol

The Kona mentioned isn't my own (YET????) - rental company here does full electric so I rent with them; similar price but bigger cars.
Was your jeep petrol or diesel? Just curious. My Passat diesel drops off noticeably after 70-75mph.

Hired a Skoda Rapid in Romania last year and it properly drank fuel once I found a motorway lol. Farty 1.0ltr tbf. Talking of which I considered hiring an electric car there, but outside of the cities the infrastructure is sparce so bottled it lol.

Back on topic - Musk is a tool.

I'd imagine electric 4x4s come with an electrified grill at the front so it acts like a kind of cattle prod when you ram into poor cyclists?

Indeed. Hopefully it just dents Tesla's reputation and his wallet.

Maybe not the thread for it, but there's a ton of investment in battery tech r&d and industry momentum so you'd hope range, lifespan and so forth improves as technology does.

Having said that I do worry a bit that electric is a bit 'eggs in one basket' which Govts appear to have favoured. Arguably hydrogen powered vehicles could have been dual tracked in terms of development. Maybe there is still a future there for long haul or commercial vehicles.

Easier said than done, it all costs and the infrastructure changes required for both are far from insignificant for manufacturers and governments.

A lot of the car manufacturers are seriously looking into hydrogen.

As you say a lot of commercial vehicles will go down the route of hydrogen. Plenty of Green Hydrogen projects will get the green light in the next few months when BEIS approve some fundings.

In a few years the cost from the OEM's for electrolysis will go the way of wind turbines and when mass produced will be a fraction of the cost.

Shocked that all the Blue Hydrogen projects looking likely to get reach the next stage of funding from BEIS.

I'm guessing the current energy supply issues have prompted the investment. Beis are a law unto themselves though, some of the bonkers schemes and spend turnarounds are head scratching.

It did speed up the process but all the changing of the gaurd with the Tory party has delayed everything as a few of the original contenders talked about scraping the Net Zero targets.

Slavic women are the very best women on on this planet and I’m not ashamed to say it. The dark sarcastic yet ridiculously sordid agents of all night mating. Feed them Slivovica and utter gratuitously suggestive things in their ear until they sexually assault you.

Sorry couldn’t see a thread more fitting for this so just put it in here as it seemed best fit.

Slivovice you say?

You jammy jammy bas. She’s 100% into submission, too. Steroids man.
You’d better be careful those birds then.
Arms the size of huge food cans.
If they give you a good old fashioned rug and tug, they’d probably rip it off!

And just to stay on topic: I’d imagine that’s what Musk is in to.
