Just reported on Sky Sports News that he's in talks with Coventry, according to Alan Myers

The sad truth is that he may develop into a very good player. If we were a top half side and DCL didn’t have his injury issues we’d have the breathing space and time to develop him. As it stands we need the money and all our eggs are in the Tom Cannon basket.

Should be looking for £8m minimum and a sell on percentage. The lad scores goals for fun. He is definitely capable of getting 20 goals in a full season in the championship and then all of a sudden he’s worth £15m+. This club seemingly has an “Everything must go” banner on the windows at Finch Farm.
Good times, eh Bill? Imagine finding a billionaire and being financially worse off than when the club had to sell Rooney for 1/2 his worth all those years ago.

Eh? 7 in 17 for Sunderland, 7 in 21 for Hearts and 10 in 24 for Blackpool is not scoring for fun

Yes, what a terrible return for the minutes he played. He clearly won’t get any better either…
He is at present about a 1 in 3 in the championship which is decent but not spectacular. He is 23 next January, again a young player but not that young.

I think that if we keep him in the squad as one of main strikers then we will be in another relegation battle as he just is not good enough at present to establish himself in the Premiership , at the same time it is no good for the player to be sitting on the bench every week

He scored 7 goals in 1100 minutes. That's really not 1 in 3.
