I would prefer him go on loan for a season.

I'm not sure a loan will always work. Send him to a championship or league 1 team and if he doesn't score or it's too physical it could ruin him.

The big sides who have top talent bed them into the side slowly and when they score at the highest level their stock rises and they become the new João Felix' and Jovic's of the world.

Send them to a Bristol City or Rotherham and that's that for them.

All he has to do is keep doing what he is doing at the next level up,and he will be excellent player, hopefully gets as many games as pos in the u23s but may end up been sub with the u23s team the way they have gone etc

It's always better to be positive about youth prospects rather than writing them off before they've even kicked a ball in the senior set up

That doesn't mean over hype them, it just means giving them time and not swinging the axe on them early doors

Thankfully our match going crowd does give them a chance, but our online contingent are very quick to cull

But then I'm treading over old ground and people are sick of reading it and I'm sick of writing it. It is how it is

How have you gone all this time without how it works here and at Everton in general

If there’s anything in the article (which is probably rubbish) then it would seem the management disagree Nymz.

If you contrast that article with the Echo article about staggered pre-season coupled with the lack of any sort of striker in the academy outside Hornby I would file it under: obviously.

If anyone remembers Delial Brewster you’ll understand.
Not a great comparison mate, Brewster had promise but never scored half of the goals of Simms, never made an u21 appearance. Part of the problem for Simms is threads like this where people have read something in the Echo/Mirror and believe he’s ready for the first team when he clearly isn’t , and I think you’re right to try to rein in people’s enthusiasm a bit.
What we don’t know is just what the club really think of him, there’s been no hype whatsoever, no end of season promotion to the subs bench for experience, I don’t even know how long his new contract is for, an indication of how highly thought of he is. Paul Tait and the coaches just worked on him all season to improve him, didn’t move him up early to the U23s just kept improving him and it paid off. The same for the U23s this season will do just fine.

I’m not a betting man , but I’ll offer my spare GOT mug in a wager, you can have Adeydoyin I’ll have Simms and we’ll see who comes out on top next season :)

Yeh I wasn’t comparing Brewster in terms of output but just in terms of dominated U18’s but then it turned out it was all physique. Simms is a good player and has the physique but we’ve seen from the chances he’s had at U23 level that’s all been levelled out.

I shall certainly challenge you with my Adedoyin (granted he stays) but what’s the barometer of success?
