Transfer Rumour Eliaquim Mangala

I think a positive of bringing in Mangala, is that even of he is played at Centre half (as I personally think he will be), the fact that he is very quick will mean he can cover for Martina’s brain farts. Our biggest issue with Martina is that when he does mess up, our centre halves are too slow to cover for him.

I would also like to point out to those accusing him of being a hoofball merchant that we did have a footballing centre half just recently and the crowd largely turned gangster on him? Perhaps a ‘get-rid centre half’ who does indeed ‘get rid’ might be just the tonic we need. The fact that he is very tall also gives me hope that he may not pee his knickers every time a cross comes into the box?
Agreed. He's also much better on set pieces on both ends of the pitch than anyone outside of Keane. Siggy would appreciate it on corners and free kicks.

I Look at this as a positive move. We lack some power and strength in the back and he brings that. Just hope he keeps the red cards to a minimum, he can be a bit physically reckless from what i recall. Very athletic though.

Reckon he’ll be straight in v Arsenal. Need his pace against whoever they play upfront. (This is where Allardyce plays Jags and Williams now)

Talking to a mate this morning who's a ST holder at the Emptihad and he said, "Mangala is like Stones, he'll play really well for three games and then in the fourth, he'll lose concentration and balls something up. He's a good player, but needs to be involved all the time or his head wanders off elsewhere."

Like this, perhaps?

Eliaquim Mangala is being absolutely slaughtered by Manchester City supporters on social media tonight following his first-half performance against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup. Well, in the last few moments of the first period, his sloppy pass was intercepted, which led to Bristol being awarded a penalty kick for a foul on Bobby Reid, which was coolly dispatched into the bottom corner by Reid himself.

Tim Sherwood said on Premier League News that he's a good header but shocking on the ground and makes a lot
of mistakes. 'It's OK at City because if he leaks 3 goals they can still win 4-3', he said.

Off topic he said that Sam had never seen Tosun play and that he's a Steve Walsh signing. It was also reported that
the fee was 19.5 million pounds. Not 27mil'.

Been telling my MC mates for ages that he is not Prem standard and they will always struggle with players like him.

Welcome to Everton.

However, he is probably our best defender after Seamus which is worrying.
This is why we are what we are at the moment.
It won't get better lads, do not raise your hopes for the rest of the season.

Like this? 30 January 2017 Las Palmas 3 Valencia 1

Valencia returned to losing ways this evening against Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. The ball was swung into the box by Pedro Bigas and all Mangala had to do was head it clear. Instead, the Frenchman appeared to be caught in two minds over whether to head the ball or chest it. He slipped and Kevin-Prince Boateng finished past Diego Alves.
