ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I'm trying to decide which was more heinous; the pro-racism t-shirts or this new affair?

Genuine question here...

...First off it has to be said that the referee didn't see the bite OR Ivanovic push Suarez in the head - but had he seen Ivanovic he would have sent him off right? So despite the fact he was provoked, could he not receive retrospective punishment? Because i mean if someone punched a player, and the other player fought back - then they would be both off - regardless of who started it.

Im not saying it should happen - far from it, just curious if the rules include being provoked, because like said - if it was a punch up - they would both be off - despite someone starting it

I'm only guessing, but I would assume players have a reasonable right to self-defense on the pitch. To me at least, Ivanovich's reaction was in proportion. If he had kicked Suarez in the neck as he was running away, then that would be a different situation.

I think it was more Ivanovic was pushing his head away to stop him biting?

there has never been and never will be football club as big of stain on the game than liverpool. trouble seems to follow their fans and their players. they should thank their lucky stars that their players have gotten away with so much **** in the past, especially when i've been following the sport. let's just say football would have been a much better specatcle had liverpool fc not been created

it seems like they are trying too hard. and that goes for everything they do.

Ivanovic was clearly just trying to stop the rabid dog from biting a hole in his arm with a tiny push.

To be honest I'd say it would be a perfectly fine, understandable and proportionate reaction if Ivanovic walked over and pounded his head into the floor.

I'm surprised at that. Seems like a genuine gesture. We'd all rather he'd not done that but he didn't have to give away his cash.

RAWK response.....at least one of them has a brain..

"Well no, he did have to give away his cash as he was fined.

The problem is that he chose to donate what essentially is not actually his cash to the Hillsborough Campaign.

It's not very thoughtful at all and I very much hope that this is a decision coming from Suarez (making it thoughtless but well-meaning and understandable) and not our club (making it moronic and another PR nightmare)."

Of course the rest are shooting this guy down....

No doubt the poor lad got dogs abuse from the masses on there, then scent common sense like a pack of wolves scents blood

They're going to appeal if its more than 3 matches.

Of course they are, he would clearly be the victim of racial discrimination if he got more than a three match ban for the second offence of something he previously got a seven match ban for.

Getting shown up big time for the deluded idiots they are.

I really hope they do appeal, it would be an other PR disaster for them.

I've never seen a mask slip so fast. Decades of media fawning and second team sympathy gone in a calendar year. Now everyone is right onto them and their ways.

My only concern with an appeal would be if it delayed the ban so Suarez made the derby mate. They'd be lost without him and it's high time we make them squeal on their own patch. There's literally [Poor language removed] all to be fearful of in a Suarez less Liverpool.
