ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

It annoys me how the media are "shocked" by this everyone knows he's too good for the RS and would want CL football really wish the media would naff off with the constant Liverpool are a massive club theme you would think we share the city with the league champions FFS.

Suarez has been better, particularly in the second half of the season. Hasn't RVP gone about 7 games without scoring ?

Watching Suarez play he pretty much has it all. If RVP and Suarez swapped places i'm sure the latter would score a lot more goals and RVP would score less.

not necessarily, i mean RVP single handedly brought his team to 3rd place last season. Arsenal obviously have a better team than liverpool, but still they ain't that great.

I don't understand why they think he will stay. It's delusion at it's worst/best.

He's currently one of the best strikers in the world and they're not in the CL and he's talking about a potential move.

He's gone. Just like Fellaini is gone unless we get 4th place.

I can't wait to see the meltdown in the summer. I just can't wait.

"After orl weev dun 4 im, JOOOOODDDDAAARRRSSSSSS!!!!"

Maybe the difference is that they have the ability to increase Suarez's wages in line with what he'd get elsewhere (I know FSG and Rodgers talk a good game about pruning wage bills but I'm sure there'd be exceptions made for star players). If he does go it'll be to increase his profile. I know the PL gives big exposure, but he's a big fish in a small pond here. He wont want to miss out on CL football and he probably can see that next season would be a massive gamble to expect Rodgers to get past the Big 4 plus Spurs.

Yeah that's one of the main differences between us and them really. To be fair to them they made two pretty good signings in January so they're doing what they can to convince him to stay.

Good players want Champions League though, and I still can't see them getting it next year. I could see Suarez possibly spitting his dummy out if Liverpool stand in his way of a move. Let's hope, hey!

I wish players were more patient. If all these players who left for Champions League football stayed at the clubs they leave, those clubs would like be in the CL within a season anyway. Liverpool aren't miles off now. What's wrong with taking a pay rise and then waiting a season to play in the CL? I've thought that about Everton many times. Liverpool can probs offer the wages Suarez wants as well. Players want CL football but just don't want to graft for it

I agree in some ways. Like with Luka Modric. He's gone from being Spurs' star player to a bench warmer at Real, when there's a very good chance that Spurs will be in the CL next year. That was a bad move for him IMO.

With Suarez though, wheverever he moves he'll probably be starting for them, and like Davek said the competition for 4th place here is very tough. I can't see Liverpool getting there next season, maybe he can't either.

I've said it before though players often succeed because they've got a huge belief in their own ability . They keep going (football wise ) and working when stuff goes wrong that huge (and often unjustified ) self-belief is what drives them to think they'll be number one choice wherever they go .

Modric thought he'd play and pienaar thought he'd displace bale it's the way of it I think and I'll all but the best players they absolutely love the dollar.

Already had a pay rise from 80 to 125 to match Stevie Mee Laa

Yes, I know. He'll want more though. I bet his agent is holding a knife to the throat of FSG. In fact, in the murky world of contracts, it wouldn't surprise me if FSG have countered by unleashing the dogs of war on Suarez already - positioning him as the motive force behind a summer departure. The local press seem to be pushing the story in that direction for them.
