ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Just seen some clip on Sky of fans of both sides at the Pit, debating what it means to both sets of fans. A big game no doubts. But one fella (about 30 yrs old I'd say) said despite the RS going through their worst period of success in their history theyre still only 2 league championships behind them (words to that effect). Excuse me, but how successful were the RS before Shankly came along? I'd hazard a guess there were many more long long barren spells between 1892 and 1963. He clearly doesn't know the history of his own club, or perhaps it never ever happened. Showing my age here I know, but football was invented long before Sky and the Premier league came along!

The echo has a piece about their commercial deals, the RS M.D. says ““It’s a mistake to think narrowly about global marketing. We have 770 million passionate and loyal followers globally, comprising the world’s greatest football family.”

Does this guy really believe that 1/10 of every human being on the planet supports his lot. I know they are deluded but ffs....
they cant get a ticket, I don't know a single one them that hasn't sat on the kop, no one sits any where else, 8000,000 sat on the kop every week.

They were a bit like us.. we were pretty much neck and neck, perhaps we went 1 up in 1970 (7-6?) so basically pre 1963 we were 5-5 (I think). The difference was we weren't relegated so much, didn't spend years in the wilderness and didn't play at a Pit of a ground that Anfield most assuredly was pre Shankly (well, to be fair, pre-Paisley as well).

And we'd won the FA Cup twice before they won it for first time in 1965 (and then us again in 1966). But, I digress, cos no doubts they sped away from us from the 1970's onwards. My main point is that alot of their fans and definitely the media (Sky and BT) lord up this 'historic' rivalry. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and Everton v Liverpool was all that mattered (locally). Everton v Man Utd was as big as Liverpool v Man Utd. No difference. Only since Ferguson turned them round, started catching Liverpools trophy haul, and surpassed their league wins did this rivalry spiral beyond recognition. Sky perpetuated it. Fair enough, and worldwide support for both clubs enhances it. Our demise hasn't helped either.

It's basically redmen tv and fulltime devils mate, the two biggest youtube fan channels for each club.

Take comfort in the fact that none of their league titles count, according to sky, as they were all before the invention of football. ;)

Thats how I feel now, I cant stand United, although obviously i love Jose since nobody has ever wound them up more then he can. I really dont want to see Lukaku do well now because he never did for us in a game like that, I dunno, best outcome would be or Liverpool to lose from an OG!!
I can live with that - just.

Not sure about the first one (something to do with 'Straight Outta Compton'?), but are the others answering:
How many times have your club won the Premier League?
To avoid slipping, what should you learn to do before you run?
You will all die delusional and...?
