ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

We should do the same to be honest. They must make a fortune out of stadium tours and museum visits etc. plenty of visitors to the city would want to see both clubs stadiums if we marketed ours a bit.
Don't bank on it. I reckon a straw poll of overseas visitors would conclude that the vast majority wouldn't even know Everton Football Club exist.

Example: I was over in Thailand, some local lads say 'hey hey, you English?' 'yeah' ' you support Liverpool? Michael Owen, Stevie Gerrard, yes?' 'No, I support Everton'.

Complete silence, then they walk off.

To suggest visitors to Liverpool would want to see Goodison is like suggesting visitors to London would want to see Charlton or Leyton Orient's ground.

You'd be amazed how many people in this country don't even realise that Everton Football Club is in Liverpool, never mind people from abroad.

It needs to start at the airport and train/bus stations, hotels and hostels - promote the club from there and offer decent stadium tours along with other city sights along the way.

"...and up there are the symbols of Liverpool Football Club (look up at the Liver Birds). The birds face two ways...one faces towards Anfield, home of our Red Warriors, the other faces out to sea, taunting the world. Rumour has it that if the birds fly away, The City of Liverpool will fall into the sea. We take it as an honour to protect the City from all things bad (like Jose) and take pride in being the driving force in the continued survival of civilisation"

liverpool fan on facebook put a picture of rodgers up with the comment, i hope we dont lose him.

I replied, within two years you will be begging for him to go if he isn't sacked.

Their response- No, i think he will get the players in we need to take us back to where we belong!

All i could say is, if only he had over 100 million to spend to sign these players.

To be fair, he's already got the players in to do that... if you consider they belong in league two.

Hey Yankee Doodle Dandies - here's what Mr Pearldrops has done with your dollars

Now "Sound as a Pound" Gerd John (shop at) Aldi says "I would love to see Diego Costa leave Chelsea for Libberpool"

- yeah, cos he's just about to put in a written transfer request isn't he...

Well John lad, I hate to disappoint you - like - but hmmm I don't think he's coming to Liverpool (unless Chelsea get to draw your lot in the cup and even then only for the day).

'Sound as a pound' Aldo wants Costa to leave a club where the manager has won these

In ten seasons of club management, Mourinho has led his club to win its domestic league seven times, the UEFA Champions League twice and the UEFA Cup once. Between 2003 and 2012, Mourinho did not go a single calendar year without winning at least one trophy.

Porto (2002–2004)
Chelsea (2004–2007, 2013–)

José Mourinho on the touchline against Leicester City August 2014
Internazionale (2008–2010)
Real Madrid (2010–2013)
Individual

For a manager that has won this,

Cant really get too excited by Aldo on this one. He isnt saying Costa should join Liverpool, he said he wished he had a few years back, but he stayed put for various reasons. He also says in the same article that players like Costa used to be attracted to Liverpool, but not so much now. Or words to that effect.

For Aldo, it actually makes sense this time.

Think your being overly harsh here.. Chances are if you've heard of Liverpool fc you will have heard of Everton fc too, being a football fan. If I was in Madrid, I'd want to go to both the Bernabau and Atletico's ground.

Visitors to the city will be aware there's two cathedrals and two football clubs surely.

I think if you polled the entire world, more would have heard of Liverpool FC than us. Just the way of the world.

In the same way that more folk would recognise Real Madrid than Athletico.

And that is not to compare the RS with RM btw!

But I for one, couldnt really care. It takes an odd view to think that that lot have a lower global awareness than us.

But proper football fans know the real difference between the two clubs. And it has jack to do with global brand awareness.
