This is simply not true. Sure, there will be plenty of people who are aware of us, but to suggest that we are universally recognisable is just plain incorrect.

I said that "anyone who follows English football" will have heard of Everton, no matter where they are in the world.

I wouldn't expect herdsmen out on the Mongolian steppe or Inuits in the frozen wastes of Northern Canada or Hottentots in African mud huts or good ole boys in Alabama redneck bars to have heard of us nor Liverpool nor Arsenal nor Stoke City either.
