I like the RAWKish level of effort you put into that, bravo sir.
I essentially had to become one for the 10 minutes it took to construct that message. It was a dark place, and I never want to go back again.

Expanding beyond the City's limits meme is just more of (TINA - There is no alternative) free-market group think narrative. With any amount of imagination, one could see how the reframed greener pastures of major financial centres are code for the same types of practices which have brought us the recent financial crises across the world of neoliberal (growth by any means).
LOL. A man who's head is that firmly lodged up his arse has about 10 minutes breathing time left, tops

Critiques to consider:
1) A Mentality of Disposability - groups and communities
2) Neglected labor and divide/conquer tactics, where the working people are left out
3) Wage theft, inequality, and private exploitation of public resources and space
Granted this is not FSG's modus operandi, but every decision, and choice has a consequence. Hence, looking at it your way Craig would mean being complicit with values that do not align with the culture of the club (imo, in a noticeable, but small manner).
In every choice, there is a way to honor the different parties of an objective. Clearly, this was not that well considered with Billy's press release. Capital and labor have very different ideas about what is good for a community, or organization. One might say in this context "the storm" in you'll never walk alone is the oppression of the working class.
Aligning with capital centres in London is a pretty clear statement. It does not have to be exaggerated as some catastrophic slight, but certainly should not be spun into a false sense of local strength (i.e. because the club is so strong, now we can move to London stuff).
We cannot export our critical thinking skills to a purely self-serving corporate argument, can we? "

He has a very poor opinion of Pirlo then.
Exactly right. They were, as you say, born from greed. They were always the club of businessmen at the top of the tree, whereas Everton were unsullied by that association until the gimp Moores spread his wings out of Anfield and into Goodison. Liverpool have never, ever been anything other than a club with an eye for the cash. It continues to this day.New to the whole 'Liverpool moving their commercial office to London' thing.
The whole thing is hilarious. The squirming on RAWK is brilliant - people torn between knowing that it's wrong, but also using the 'London is the business centre of the U.K.' b.s. excuse.
The gradual realisation that this is another step away from their local roots is great.
Their whole club was built on utter greed - John Houlding demanding more money and breaking an agreement, and Everton taking the high road by refusing to bow to pressure and taking the club elsewhere instead of being held to ransom over the rent.
So they were built on greed, and they've been like it ever since. And now their pursuit of greed is being manifested in the events of recent years. "We'll abandon our local roots because, well, all the money is in London". 2 hours away on a train. Lol.
The penny is finally dropping that they're just a franchise, with foreign owners who don't live in the country, a commercial department based 250 miles away, fans who live even further away and a ground filled with tourist whoppers.
At least Everton is one local club that the city of Liverpool can be proud of, that has deep-seated roots in the community and truly represents local people.
