That's just a lame attempt to deflect. I'll ask you again: why did you find Uncle Tom offensive but not that ad?

Because the advert was a poor pr attempt, which most people on here agreed with, whch then becomes a majority If you read most people's comments on that particularly thread.

The uncle Tom was your personal opinion. Which was roundly disagree with and even cause the thread to be locked with a closing comment from the mod that it was "one of the worst things you could refer to a black man as"

Does that make it clear for you?

So just because the ad is a PR exercise it falls automatically out of the category of racism? That, of course, is ridiculous. Why on earth should that get a free ride?

There's no consistency in your approach to the two issues I raised.

Damn, it's so clear now. Your right. I'm so wrong for disagreeing with you DAVE.

A pr company with no links to the club, or the initial point of interest is being implicated by an everton fan on a forum.

You are bang on the money davek, this will teach em

Bryan, I'll be honest: after the Uncle Tom furore on here I had to sit back and mull over whether it was ok to still use that sort of language (probably why I took off on it a bit too much). It's a bit of a shame now though to find out that - at least where you're concerned - it wasn't really said out of a matter of principle so much as a way of scoring a few points. Because there's no way you could have been anything other than faux outraged at the Uncle Tom term given you allow this ad through without a shred of criticism.

*Disappointed*

Yes, that's me alright point scoring anonymity.

Anyway...

Dalglish has decided not to blame Pearce for Gerrard's injury.

It seems that they worked together at Newcastle and Dalglish likes him.

At least Pearce will be spared the lunatic bile from RAWK.

I don't mind Reina tbh he seems a genuine guy. Remember at the derby couple years ago, after the beach ball incident when he was walking over to the gwladys goal and people threw a few at him, he was laughing straight back at us and taking it as a joke.

Hes a bell.

His celebrations everytime they score against us put Gary Nevilles against them to shame

I think Reina's the kind of guy that is sound when you talk to him but is an utter bell when he goes into lbplflbklb mode. Like most of them I expect.

There needn't be intent for something to be racist. It's perfectly possible to unwittingly oppress somebody. Happens every day.

Happens everyday to everyone. Only if it upsets black people is it wrong. Chinese people get joked about all the time and no one gives a ****.

Did you see 'Make Bradford British' the other night. The two black people on there, perfectly sound- if a bit strange- people, untill they went in that historic listed building with portraits from hundreds of years ago in. They were actually offended at the lack of black people in there and had a heart to heart with eachother about how they didn't feel part of Britain anymore. This is the kind of ****e that shouldnt even be entertained. Get a ****ing grip. You are British you were born here. There wasn't a lot of black people in Britain in the 1500's. Things have changed. Get the **** over it. I fumed at that. It's just one example.
