I'd have given up on his when he was a independently convicted racist.

Or when he feigned injuries to win penalties
Or when he bit a player

Not when he asked for a move, out of all the reasons to leave the RS, I would not have hated for that, he is a brilliant footballer who wants to play in the champions league.

Not sure what the financial situation is but Henry just bought the Boston Globe newspaper for $70 million and the Sox are top of their division. I dont think they are in financial trouble but I do think Henry is realizing that he doesn't have the financial clout to compete in the EPL. IMO he's definitely looking for a buyer. He spent half the cost of the Globe on Andy Carroll, that's nuts!

Everton fans would have actually been happy if he was playing for us and wanted out; having done all those things.

Then again, we're not a club so desperate to buy a character like that in the first place (and pienaar and ferguson aren't even close before people say them)

I think Insua and Koncheskey were sold for around 2m or so. Aquilani was about 7m but they had to pay part of his wages. Babel was something like 5 or 6m. Bellamy, Poulsen, Cole all free transfers.

All in all looking at about 20-25m net spend per season over the last 4 years.

In that time they have also "signed" Kolo Toure, Doni, Joe Cole, Fabio Aureilo and Milan Jovanović for "free", most of them would have come with a hefty signing on bonus and a nasty weekly wage.

In the last 2 Seasons they have finished below us, with a net spend of 75m, compared to our net spend of -14m.
