I think Insua and Koncheskey were sold for around 2m or so. Aquilani was about 7m but they had to pay part of his wages. Babel was something like 5 or 6m. Bellamy, Poulsen, Cole all free transfers.

All in all looking at about 20-25m net spend per season over the last 4 years.

Pulsen wasn't a fre transfer!

And cole may have been free but he was £100,000 a week and would've commanded a HUGE singing on fee.

You've had plenty of money to spend, even if we just take the net spend at face value, i.e you had £50m from Torres's sale - it doesn't matter that KKK spunked it on Carroll and Downing.

Yeah but they made £25m profit on Torres so it's alright.

Ha Ha.

The last words he heard from Liverpool was the cheering from those mug fans he's just about to piss on.

I've seen a few pictures from that game and the open training session and he definitely has a slight look of "WHY THE [Poor language removed] ARE YOU STILL CHEERING ME I'M A D*CKHEAD!?!?!"

They gave Carroll and Cole "golden handshakes" each. Coles was about 3mill I think

"We see this season as a great opportunity to hopefully move forward again. I'm forever an optimist - we will always fight. It's what Liverpool Football Club is about. We never accept second best.

"The challenge is to get into the Champions League positions, but not just be in it, but try to fight and go as high as we possibly can. That has to be the main target, to arrive in the top four."

from David Brent

Well they're not accepting second best if they're aiming for fourth best to be fair.

RAWK

I can guarantee that ALL Liverpool supporters have done at least one of these.

« on: June 28, 2003, 02:03:49 PM »

1) Vowed to name their first born child after their favourite player.

2) Touched an imaginary 'THIS IS ANFIELD' sign when walking down some steps.

3) Played football with a plaster on your nose.

4) Done the wobbly legs when playing in goal and facing a penalty.

5) Slurred your way through You'll Never Walk Alone on karaoke when drunk.

And I'll bet most of you have done all of these things.

Shudders

"Brendan Rogers, the Liverpool manager, insisted that he had spoken to Suárez and publicly claimed that the Uruguayan understood and accepted the club's position. Those were remarks that surprised the striker when he saw them. The two men had indeed spoken but when they did Suárez made it clear that he wanted to go and felt that he was entitled to do so."

A fine mess here.....

"But he disputes suggestions that he has lacked loyalty and says most fans would understand his position."

"I don't think the supporters are angry – I think they understand a player when he has the ambition to triumph at the highest level."

Delusion must rub off on the players too. He is about to find out exactly how much the Liverpool lot love him....
