ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Agree with you on Salah, but not van Dijk particularly. Yes he has lost a bit of pace but what he needs is a competent partner - and thats not there. (Guehi would have been). They spent a lot of money, on good players, but not the ones they needed. Sad eh?
I appreciate your point, as a reliable partner is important: I said this for a while with Keane. However, if he's a top defender, he should be leading.

It should be for others to rely on him, not the other way around, yet right now he regularly looks adrift and prone to mistakes when tackling.

And that's if he does tackle... another issue! Yesterday, he played a part in all four goals. Would a better CB help? Of course it would - him and the team.

But I do think he's individually deteriorating, and there's been a few times this season he's blamed Konate, when personally I felt he was responsible.

There was one time yesterday when he looked aghast with his teammates, and they didn't look concerned. Captain Fantastic losing his respect?

Van Dijk is 35 in July & Konate is out of contract. Theyve got Gomes and Leoni whose been injured all season behind them.

They will need to sign 2 centre backs this summer before considering all the other holes.

If we make some top signings we could overtake them in quality.

They signed the lad from Rennes in January

No Shamoon, not the first real sign. Have you slept through the whole of the season to date?
In a very crowded field, he is the most blatant pro RS journalist/pundit.
Every single one of his comments on BBC sport starts with, to him, the unquestionable fact that they are the greatest team ever and Mo Salad is unquestionably the greatest player ever.
He is a shocker.
He should be in the minor things that make you fume thread.

Unreal that they all sit there nodding sagely, and no-one pulls him up for chatting wham. Don’t get me wrong, there was a season or 2 when VVD looked fantastic, at the top of his game. I remember a 0-0 at Goodison when he was very good, won every header, no-one got past him, he was like a ball magnet that day.

But “too good for the CL”. What utter garbage, and he gets paid top dollar to just rim the team he supports, while everyone around him nods along, and the telly clapping bells who are stupid enough to pay for sky, sit at home in their full kit, cheering and singing YMCA.
