Us bitter bloos just don't understand that last year's half a billion was to replace players, not improve them. And besides if you factor in the Coutinho money, the savings on Salah wages, then they are actually saving money, not like dem oil clubs.

I heard a conversation in the cafe I go to which basically took the following course.

"We haven't really spent 500 million, with the shirt sales and net spend were actually about 100 mil up"

Then the 5 lids he was sitting with squarked in agreement

The ‘just replacing players’ argument is my favourite when you remind them that surely if they’d replaced them they’d be top of the league and then for extra fun point them to the social media noise that was coming out after five games this season about how they were going to go the season unbeaten and win the lot 🤣

TBF, I was talking to a RS the other day who conceded that they have now spent the Coutinho money.
