In his day, which was long gone by the time he got to Everton, he was a superb left back.Remember watching his debut mid week game v the Spuds think he scored and we surprisingly lost.
Salomon Rondon
Had a really bad run of injuries a broken leg at some point really unluckyDave Smallman.
Exciting Welsh prospect signed from Wrexham by Mr. Billy Bingham in 1975.
I can’t remember much about him as he never fulfilled his potential and didn’t play much.
Watched him a few times at Wrexham before he joined us, people knew he had a talent and an eye for a goal. As you said, so unlucky with injuries. He looked decent the times i watched him.
Never even by Everton standard have we had such an unlucky player.
Two broken legs. Hamstring and a load of other injuries.
Left for Bangor scored 4 goals in as many games then got an injury again.
Had to retire.
Shame as he definitely had something about him.
Someone like Phelan is the absolute sweetspot in this type of thing for me. Not some obscure kid who only played 25 minutes once, not someone who was universally accepted as awful (and so kind of remembered on that basis), just an average pro who was on the books for a bit and did fine but not to the extent that they leave any abiding memories. Allan is one for me, i'd already forgotten all about him until I saw a clip with him in on social media the other day.Paul Holmes, Terry Phelan, Mitch Ward, Brendan Galloway
