I know its jarg Europa league but I haven't been this excitednervous for a match in a long time. Its been a long slog getting back to this point and we have an actual, slight chance of winning this thing with the EPL sides gone. COYB!

Barry or Gibson? Would probably go with Gibson (who hasn't played a match on short rest yet I think) but won't be too arsed with Barry who I notice has been playing well with adequate rest (as long as Barry is promptly subbed if he gets carded). I'd also keep Besic out of Europe except in late situtations as a red card is often a death sentence in the knockout rounds.

1-1 EVERTON!!

I know what you mean, I havent been this excited about a game since the FA cup semi in 2012, I dont normally allow myself to get too excited, I just cant help it though! :)

you mean park the bus for the first half like we did in the first leg to universal boos from the Goodison faithful?

We didn't try to park the bus in the first leg, we just played our usual pointless tapping the ball around with no purpose game which is a completely different tactic to parking the bus........................I think its absolutely vital that we dont concede in the first 20 mins tonight so i do think we should close up shop as much as possible, get a bit nasty at the same time, kick a couple of them early and try to rattle them, then depending on how the game was panning out, possibly bring on the likes of atsu and/or mcgeady for the last 20/30 mins and hit them fast on the counter

I'm guessing it will be Naismith (or Osman) on the left to give Baines some help with Yarmolenko who looked like their biggest threat last week. Hoping for Atsu on the right rather than McGeady. Reckon it will be either:

-------------------Howard-------------------

Coleman----Stones----Jagielka----Baines

-----------McCarthy----Barry---------------

Atsu--------------Barkley---------Naismith

-------------------Lukaku-------------------

or

-------------------Howard-------------------

Coleman----Stones----Jagielka----Baines

----McCarthy-----Gibson------Barry-------

Atsu-------------Lukaku----------Naismith

My heart keeps "skipping" the butterflies keep coming, oh what Everton does to you!:)
COYB! Massive game today! Do you think we'll set up like:
Howard
Coleman- Stones - Jags - Baines (offers more defensive prowess for that yarmo tw*t)
McCarthy - Gibson - Besic
Osman
Kone - Rom

Can't see him playing 2 up front in this game, I think the team will be:

Howard

Coleman Jags Stones Baines

McCarthy Barry

Osman Barkley/Gibbo Naismith

Lukaku

If we won the whole thing would we create a new Everton, oh we love everton, everton oh we love everton song?

Couldn't imagine everyone yelling Tim Howaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard instead of Neville Southaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalll
Plus nicknames aren't like they used to be. Kev The Rat, Psycho Pat, Shaggy Stevens, Tricky Trev!
errrrrr Aids McGeady

I'd start with barry, think the key to winning this is to park the bus for the first half hopefully keeping it at 0-0 and then gradually start to stretch them, they were out on their feet for the last time 20 mins at goodison so fitness wise we have them and its that last 20 minute spell that we should be aiming to win the game....

That is all well and good ' but Tim Howard under pressure if they are allowed to dominate the Midfield early on does not settle the defence by not commanding the box when Barry plays we always seem to concede when TH is under pressure as in the first leg - I would hope Gibson , and Osman would put us on the front foot from the whistle!

It’s late at night and you’ve probably lost interest after this first paragraph

First Paragraph ? Either optimistic or deluded, you decide !

I joke, thank you for the preview as always, interesting read, think tonight will be a real test for players and manager alike, shame mirallas is injured because we really do need two wingers to stretch the gaps left by Kiev. Just get through Everton.

Its never that simple with the blues though.......

Easy win made to look difficult. Last 8 and easy draw.

Scrape this, then i either want Club Brugge with second leg at home or a proper glamour tie like Roma or Sevilla. Be bothered getting Dnipro or Zenit after Krasnodar and Dynamo. Don't know why but the Eastern European games just don't get the blood pumping as much.

Whatever happens tonight, I'm pretty sure we won't bottle it.

Martinez team talk will hopefully be something like "be yourselves, play with expression and don't be scared"

vs Moyes

"press the ball, run hard, and watch out for their best players"

My memory is shot to bits like, but I cant recall 'shaggy stevens'
