About 2 years ago there were folks calling for him to get capped for England. didnt he turn down an option to play for someone else internationally. He scored some good goals for us and does better at 10 than 7. He has declined so much his player rating vs Leeds was a 3. We just have too many better 10's than him now. So basically we got 20M for someone doing nothing for us.
Who knows he is 26 and still has time to find a new purple patch. Hope he does.

Absolutely this, he played his part in keeping us in the premiership these last few seasons. I wish him nothing but good luck.

I just see money flying around and dunno what's a good price for players anymore. However it seems like you can pay absurd transfer fees for players and if they are out of favor/benched still get almost as much as you paid for him.

Yeah, we were deducted 10 points and sold all of our best players because of financial constraints - and he pulled us out with key goals and assists in very important games.

He’s a bottom 6 player, or rather he was. He’s a Championship player now, as Palace will find out. Slow, weak, dreadful.

I do not think that is entirely awful business. My view is that £35m on Brennan Johnson is a good deal for a player who has a proven track record when it comes to goal involvements.

Strand Larsen for £48m seems a bit steep but I think he will do well for Palace. The McNeil fee is questionably high in my view but excellent for us.

Great business would be to make a profit. The fact we're struggling to make any money on him all these years later shows how bad he is.

I know some people have a soft spot for him because of the few goals he scored, but he is a really poor player at this level. One of the main reasons we were in relegation battles is the fact our whole attack was built around him.
