DUNDEE UNITED VS EVERTON

The last few years our pre-season has been largely identical to the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea, going to the U.S. and playing MLS teams, as well as a few domestic friendlies finishing off with a home friendly against a mid-ranked European team.

We start slow because we don't buy anyone in the summer transfer window, then sell one of our best players on deadline day.

Not because of who we play in pre-season.

We start slow because we dont buy anybody? What a load of sh1t

We prob start slowly because Moyes beasts the fook out of them for 2 months before our first game

Hahaha the pre season fixture list comes out and everyone's hating on Moyes because we're playing gash teams. Love it. We really do have the best popcorn filled love/ hate relationship with him dont we?

Oh David.

Why is it sh1t?

The team needs new faces to give them a lift. Every Evertonian to a man knew that last summer, it was posted on here tons of times, don't pretend otherwise. The bloody team said so themselves in interviews!!! Then the loss of Arteta was just demoralising, one of our best players who made our midfield tick for the previous 7 years, being replaced by two loans, a nutter bombed out of Real and an untried grock from Argentina.

That's also a load of crap about Moyes beasting them and you know it. Where are the players whinging to the press about our training methods? Oh right, yeah, there are none.

Seen us twice in pre-season in Scotland before.

2002 in Dunfermline. A 16 yr old Rooney attracts a large crowd from Merseyside but only gets on in the 2nd half, despite having banged a load of goals in during the previous week in other games. A lingering memory is him standing at the touchline at the end of the game signing autographs, and looking a bit overwhelmed by all the attention. Anyway Gravesen bossed the game and we won 3-0.

2006 Celtic Park. Players pushing for fitness some of whom had just returned from the World Cup. Moyes and Strachan spent most of the 2nd half chatting on the touchline. Narrow 0-1 defeat with I think a debutant Aiden McGeady getting the goal.

Both poor games in fairness but good excuses for spending a few days on the lash in Edinburgh. Happy days.
