Drenthe the enigma

Works better when you load it into a gun not whacking him with it :P

Agree with you, up to the club if they think they can offer him the wages he wants. If he moves on, I won't hold no grudges, man's looking to earn the best dollar he can. Something tells me he gets it here though, just don't want him forced out.

Get Amo on FFS

FA Cup Semi Final versus Spurs '95, will never ever forget those two goals, ingrained in the memory forever. AMOOOOKACCCCHIIII!!!!!!

Who's our super sub these days? Even James Vaughn's buggered off.

We don't have one. It should be Super Tim Cahill like.

not a chance moyes would keep him on next season imo now (hes never a moyes player - too independant and too much flair ), and theres not a chance drenthe will want to stay anyway (hes in it for glitz aned glamour not hard work and grinding out results with dull ugly football).

tbh he clearly is a good talent on his day and exciting to watch , but add to that the fact that he is unsporting (looking for freekicks from nothing tackles) and a spoilt brat (spitting his dummy out when his dives dont get a freekick) then i dont think he will have much a future hear anyway. hes has potential to be a great or just as much a massive figure of hate id say.

if he could sort himself out and grow up he could be special , but im guessing he is one of these players who will never hit the heights he potentially could becouse of his attitude.

I think I saw most of the replays of Drenthe's falls and I don't think he dived in any of them. I think he had a good case for nearly all of them just the ref wasn't having any of them. ?? I don't recall any previous games where Drenthe has been diving so I don't get where all this hate is coming from.

well thats where we shall have to agree to disagree :) , i can think of atleast 3 times he went down and imo he was looking for the freekick. if a defender sticks a leg out he will run into it and go down. so imo hes running into the tackle not the tackle knocking him.(if you get me ?)

fair enough :) makes you wonder if refs would change their decisions even with tech

Love the guy. Stay on your feet Roy. Hope you stay.

When Moyes goes to Spurs, Barcelona or Barnsley - we might get someone in who will galvanise the whole place.

I love Drenthe. For me his faults are part of what make him exciting to watch. He has that selfish, reckless streak in him. Occasionally he'll shoot from distance or run with the ball into a crowded penalty area. It's frustrating when it doesn't come off. But with his skill and pace sometimes it will come off. Actually I think Moyes values his qualities more than some of you. Moyes has spoken about how Drenthe's unpredictability can be an asset, and the fact that Drenthe's featuring in so many games speaks for itself.

Moyes out

Oops sorry wrong thread.

The boy has sparkling talent, he needs discipline and time to learn real craft. He is a must sign along with straqualursi in the summer. Not the best in the world but a must have in the squad just for their work level and singleminded ness.

I thought yesterday was his best well rounded game. He is a match winner and worth points over a season. On a different day he would have got that penalty and we would be at Wembley - that type of impact player is pricessless. His workrate yesterday i thought was immense but tired from 70 mins onwards.

He may want £70k, but who would pay him anything like that ?

If he cuts out all the bollox he could be something special, and worth maybe £35k a week. At the moment he's as big a liability as a threat who costs us as many goals as he scores or creates. Yes he celebrates like a nutter and we all want to see that but I'm pretty sure that his constant petulance, currently aimed at refs and linesmen, will transfer itself to his team-mates and management team when he doesn't get things his own way.

He is the original gifted but spoilt brat.

Moyes won't sign him because he's a attacking flair player is a crock of ****!!

Moyes may not sign him because he may have a terrible attitude and is unwilling to learn or be part of a team!

As said by someone else drenthe could well be a player who never reaches what he could purly because of his attitude and selfishness.

I mean it's not rocket science.... Could you please help the team and defence out when were defending. Avoid making rash challenges where possible. And don't lie on the floor sulking after a tackle. Bingo! Great player!

Ronaldo wanted to be the best in the world. Had all the same faults as drenthe but listened and learned from SAF and became world class!
