Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Different types of influencing, obviously.

Trump Republicans will change positions daily if Trump asks them to do so.

Meanwhile, he's driven some on the left to absolute madness. He is so efficient at getting under their skin. There is a kneejerk reaction to Trump on the left that Trump uses to his advantage. Whereas Trump could come out in favor of abortion and conservatives would go "well maybe it isn't so bad," writers at Huffington Post would probably be authoring pieces on "why it's time to rethink Roe v. Wade" by the end of the day.

Really you think the left would change their stance on things like abortion if Trump managed to convince the GOP that it was good? Come on now.

I highly doubt that. This is just a cheap shot at the left to prove disparity. Although i agree that the huff post wet the bed a lot i doubt they or a ezine or news source of their ilk would do that.

I bet many of the GOP agree with him largely because the don't want to get on his bad side and have to hear about it on twitter or get abuse from his base.

Lindsay Graham said it best when he said he didn't want to say anything negative about him because he still wanted to talk to him.

C'mon man, it's not a cheap shot, i'm making a joke/being hyperbolic. But I'm sure you can acknowledge that Trump leads people on the left to say and do things they wouldn't do in a less enraged state.

I think you're right about politicians not wanting to get on his bad side (though some senators are being vocal today), but the cult of personality for the voters themselves is a different thing altogether.

Can you give an example or two?

Sure. People making excuses for Kathy Griffin fantasizing about cutting off Trump's head. Mainstream journalists convincing themselves that Trump is mentally/physically ill, then when it's indicated by medical staff that he isn't, the batshit insanity gets even worse and they start attacking the doctor. Joe Scarborough claiming Fox News is leading American into a coup. Really, MSNBC on an average afternoon. A dude shooting up a GOP baseball practice. A host of celebrities/journalists/public personas wishing death or making veiled threats to Trump. Pretty much anything Maxine Waters has ever said about Trump.

Comedian made a distasteful joke - had her show cancelled iirc because of it. Thought the outrage over that was over-the-top. Invoking some sob story about Barron Trump was poor.

It's noteworthy that you have people, I think even yourself did this a day or so ago, claim that the Las Vegas autopsies, etc are suspicious but have no problem at all with the White House doctor saying he's in peak physical condition and some bs about having superior genes. Hardly going into 'insanity' territory to question that - especially when the medical report misspelled the doctors name.

Joe Scarborough isn't 'left'. But, Fox News have routinely calling for a coup against the FBI, for example. That nutcase Judge Jeanine comes to mind.

Poor to invoke one mass shooter, compared to the numerous right-wing mass shootings there have been lately.

Which celeb has made an actual death threat to Trump? Are you forgetting that Trump himself threatened Clinton?

Most of these are still not examples of things people do while enraged that they wouldn't do if not etc....

Not many people on the left like or side with Kathy Griffin. Not sure any of us see her as a pillar or role model for anything quite frankly. She is an outspoken comedian who can be distasteful simple as that. So this sort of behavior is not new really.

Morning Joe was verbally attacked by Trump as was Mika his now fiance/wife. Fox news followed suit 3 different shows and several bits about him and Mika and making all sorts of accusations against them. In the defense of Trump.

Now i have no time for either of them but they have every right to speak their mind against the presidents attack dogs sorry fox.

The fact is the minute they speak Trump regurgitates and then they do his bidding for him when he attacks someone.

Fox has become nothing but divisive and before you throw MSNBC at me be aware that they don't have near the numbers fox gets in viewers. Why because even lefties get bored with their content. Fox knows who its viewers are and plays on their fears and panders to their likes. Much like Trump did in his campaign

As for the guy that shot up the baseball game. I am pretty sure he was a nut and had issues. I am pretty sure people had told stories of how unstable he was well before he decided to that. He was simply scum not your typical lefty in fairness. Unless of course you agree with the loons on the right and think we are all murderous types.

Trump could still have mental issues. The doctor even admitted that the tests where the basic tests for his health. He did no in depth study or panels. Do you think he is honestly 239 and in perfect health? Despite him looking obese and taking heart medication? The left and reasonable people have every right to question that.

Love the celebrity bit by the way simple generic ramblings with no backup or substance to it.

Not really damning stuff.

Great point.

In fact before the whole Trump thing a lot of lefty viewers wouldn't watch his show on MSNBC because he would side with some silly crap from the right.

It was Trump and fox that has made him more of a centrist.

He has spoken about his sorrow for the changes in the party he once loved.

Thing is most conservatives think because he works for MSNBC he is a lefty

It's just so tiresome to wade into these discussions, because you'll come in, ask a question, I'll respond, and you'll blow up in response and ignore the entire context of how we got here. Reactionary emotional outbursts, one after another. It's the adult equivalent of plugging up one's ears.

I mean, just take a second and look at the bizarre comparison you're attempting to draw between Vegas and the President's doctor. What are you even trying to say? I said I wasn't a conspiracy theory, but thought Vegas was odd. It is odd. I could discuss that with you, but it would likely be futile. Suffice to say that a guy without any ideological leanings killing a ton of people, ISIS claiming it, and then it quickly fading from the news is nuts.

Scarborough isn't left, true, he's a centrist who has lost his mind about Trump. There are lots of those, especially neoconservatives.

And it's only "poor to invoke one mass shooter" because you can't help but take a reactionary approach to every political discussion. I didn't bring up the shooter because I'm trying to slam the left. This started because I referenced the fact that Trump makes slaves of his GOP supporters, and drives his opponents to madness. Just try and appreciate the context before you get so emotionally wrought.

Same thing for the death threats. The topic is "who is doing things because of Trump they probably wouldn't do otherwise." I'm guessing public personas wishing harm on people publicly isn't something they often do. This has nothing to do with whether Trump is in actual danger, and everything to do with the topic at hand (people acting out of character because of Trump).

Classic. Righties will dismiss an argument just like what you're doing right now with 'your being too emotional' or 'reactionary reproach', whatever that is meant to entail. I could easily say that you're being both of those things with how arsey that reply was.

The Vegas 'comparison' was just an example, on how the right will wade into bizarre conspiracies regarding the medical reports of a mass shooting etc etc but turn a blind eye when it comes to Trump's medical diagnosis - even if it contained discrepancies. You even claimed it was 'insanity' to look into it. Ok.

'And it's only "poor to invoke one mass shooter" because you can't help but take a reactionary approach to every political discussion.' Fck knows what that's meant to mean. Lad who wore a 'maga' hat shot up a school not so long ago, we get the you can't politicise this shtick, but that one shooter gets brought up time and time again cause the victims were conservative.

So you can't think of an example. Boss.

Even when confronted with the insane refusal to acknowledge context, you double down on absolute absurdity.

Yes, that's why we reference being reactionary and emotional - because it's the only way you can (or will) converse.
