Different types of influencing, obviously.
Trump Republicans will change positions daily if Trump asks them to do so.
Meanwhile, he's driven some on the left to absolute madness. He is so efficient at getting under their skin. There is a kneejerk reaction to Trump on the left that Trump uses to his advantage. Whereas Trump could come out in favor of abortion and conservatives would go "well maybe it isn't so bad," writers at Huffington Post would probably be authoring pieces on "why it's time to rethink Roe v. Wade" by the end of the day.
Really you think the left would change their stance on things like abortion if Trump managed to convince the GOP that it was good? Come on now.
I highly doubt that. This is just a cheap shot at the left to prove disparity. Although i agree that the huff post wet the bed a lot i doubt they or a ezine or news source of their ilk would do that.
I bet many of the GOP agree with him largely because the don't want to get on his bad side and have to hear about it on twitter or get abuse from his base.
Lindsay Graham said it best when he said he didn't want to say anything negative about him because he still wanted to talk to him.
