Some states before ACA allowed insurance companies and still do fleece their people for monthly premiums. So much so it was putting people off.
Out of pocket expenses were getting higher and coverage not as good.
2. What are you on a about? In some states its a racket and you were subjected to one or two companies only and they were normally in cahoots with each other. When the ACA came about they were deeply upset about it knowing it would hurt their profits and so did their best to blame ACA and derail it and refuse to take part.
How am I way off? Again, people aren't dying due to a lack of access to care in the US. As I noted in the original post, America's system is not efficient. As I also noted, none of you advocating for state-controlled care will bother to attempt an argument about how state-controlled care will somehow be more efficient than normal USG operations.
