One of the two. Either way, the embassy isn't any less secure than there, parliament, Canary Wharf, the Millennium Dome or any of notable building on the Thames.
The Security Services (MI5) are based at Thames House which is next to the North/West bank of Lambeth Bridge (few mins. from parliament)

SIS (MI6) are at Vauxhall House which is on the opposite bank of the river (the South side) next to Vauxhall Bridge - it's the newer building.

One thing the US is vigilant about is security, so I'm sure they've done due diligence. And in terms of security, they're thinking on all fronts, not just someone driving up with a bomb.

Isn't it routinely the case that property valuations in "hot markets" are often lower than the selling price? And isn't it also the case that pretty much all US embassies ever constructed cost more than the previous one (particularly since 2011 which made provisos for the seclusion zone)? And isn't it also the case that Obama had nothing to do with the selling of the old embassy in London? I'm no expert on this, but I am aware of some racist fradulent/conman "entrepeneur" who is supposedly a (stable) genius in real estate and politics, they would possibly know, I suppose.

Yes.....it now transpired Dubya se5 th3cwheels in motion

Plenty of well educated, non ignorant and non racist folks as well.

I have trouble reconciling "well educated" and "non ignorant" with "non racist" in this statement. The following things were all known pre-election:
1. Housing discrimination (Known before you have to vote)
2. Central Park 5 lie (Known before you have to vote)
3. Birtherism (Known before you have to vote)
4. Called Mexicans drug dealers (Known before you have to vote)
5. Ban on Muslims (Known before you have to vote)
6. Pardoned Joe Arpaio
7. Nazis are “very fine people”
8. Endorsed slave-supporter Roy Moore
9. Called black countries “shitholes”

Plus the whole talk of building a wall and many other things (should one care to look). So, anyways, an educated, non-ignorant, not-racist person hears all this, and thinks to themself: "I'm smart and well-informed, so I'm gonna give my vote to this unhinged racist." ??!!

It’s an interesting line of thinking isn’t it. Is everyone who voted for trump racist? I can’t agree with that. People have prioritised what matters most to them or what they are being told and actively chosen to ignore all other messages. But then they’ve also voted for a racist bigot......
What does it say about all the women who voted for him despite the fact he’s clearly a misogynist?

And would Oprah Winfrey be able to post such good economic stats?

Hahaha.......though tbf, whoever bought it did get a bit of a bargain........

Lets be honest, most economies function despite what the government of the day do, not because of it.

Indeed.

I would say the supposedly buoyant state of the US economy is precious little to do with Trump.

The “historic” low levels of unemployment is a lot do with manipulating figures and moving people off the unemployed register and the growth of low grade, low skill Mac Jobs in the service sector, paying minimum wage.

The reality is there have not been very many high quality jobs created in wealth creating industries.

As for the continual record breaking runs in the DOW, well we all know the stock market operates to its own rules and what we are witnessing now is Bulls riding their luck in the crap shoot and everyone forgets the Dotcom and Tech corrections of the early years of the fledgling century.

Greed always trumps fear on Wall Street.

Some day soon the Bears will get their turn and it will be 2008 all over again.
