Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I tried to engage right wingers

Were you part of the ANTIFA uprising/civil war yesterday? ; )

Why the far right believes a US civil war will start on Saturday
Since late September, ‘alt-right’ members have advanced the idea that anti-fascist groups will begin a violent insurrection on 4 November. But no antifa groups are planning to protest – so what gives?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/nov/01/far-right-conspiracy-theory-us-civil-war

This is apparently the video that started it all (he's actually a bail bondsman, not a "deputy"... STOLEN VALOUR!)

And ever since, like summer camps kids sharing scary stories 'round a bonfire, they've taken to posting clips of themselves warning ANTIFA while arousedly fondling their many, many guns.

Fox News's headline instructive as always:
Antifa apocalypse? Anarchist group's plan to overthrow Trump 'regime' starts Saturday
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/0...o-overthrow-trump-regime-starts-saturday.html

I think Snopes, as so often these days, deadpannedly captures the zeitgeist. But I'm sure they were laughing while typing this as much as the rest of the world was reading it. I guess they're Fake News now too...
Is 'Antifa' Planning a Civil War? Despite what random people might say in homemade YouTube videos, they offer no proof that any anti-fascist groups are planning even a skirmish.

Millennarian, this. Like voodoo in Haiti, or something. Reading American politics these days, one cannot help but feel like like an old imperial anthropologist, before the discipline got woke, hacking through the jungle with handlebar moustache, khaki shorts, gin-and-tonic, and pith helmet, documenting the queer and hilarious customs of each local specimen for the Royal Society of Gentleman. How can anyone possibly respond to this stuff without being condescending?

So you'll forgive me if I hold out for even a grain of actual evidence on Imran Awan, and not just take at face-value the claims of those who've brought us the lizard people, the Dems running a child sex-trafficking ring out of a DC pizza shop basement, birtherism, the federal invasion of Texas, Vince Foster/White Water, Hillary giving all of America's uranium to Russia, jet fuel can't melt steel beams, seth rich, Sandy Hook was false flag, libs control our brains with chemtrails, George Soros is the One World Government, flouridizing water makes us communist... well, I could literally keep listing these all afternoon.

Come back to this in thirty years or so and see if you feel the same way.

Even if these morons get their way, and there's a Reichstag fire, military coup, pogroms, deportations, expropriations, and camps, it wouldn't change how stupefyingly braindead and ridiculous this all is.

The people who will benefit from Trump's proposed tax plan are--surprise surprise, not middle-class--but the filthy rich who own lots of companies. Now who might that be?

Yet Farmer Joe in rural America will listen to multi-millionaire Rush Limbaugh this week convincing him that it's a great plan. Oh and that democrats are the Anti-Christ.

My views haven't changed...I am 46.

It is the opposite for me.

perhaps it's a myth borne out of the impression that a lot of 60's flower-power hippies turned into corporate suits in the 80's & 90's.

Or maybe it's that leftist liberal thinking is generally based on idealism: how we wish things to be. Young people are very attracted to this idea.

And rightist conservative thinking is based on lived experience, an acceptance of how things work whether we like it or not. Something that, broadly, older people will more identify with.

More likely it's a mix of all of the above, plus the many exceptions. But I think this is what @mezzrow meant with his 30-years comment.

All of this, and the increasing ability to see the wisdom of those I formerly condescended to. Those opportunities increase if you pay attention.

For me the two are simple to define. One side embraces change and the other fights tooth and nail and fear monger against change. Instead of looking to the future one side is always looking to the past when things were 'better'.

One advantage of being quite lefty liberal when young but more righty conservative (or at least centrist) when older is that you come to understand both sides, a quality lacking in many who participate in debate nowadays where often there is no quarter given.
