Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

So let's get this stright, you think Trump winning was down to racism and a backlash against Obama who won twice and got most of the swing voters that Clinton lost? A lot of the same people who voted for Obama twice decided to vote for Trump in 2016 because they were angry that the black guy won? That's one bizzare sense of racism America must have. "The black guy was ok by me for two elections but now im mad and this white lady, oh she's beyond the pale!"

Trump won because people didn't like Hillary Clinton, simple as that and no amount of spin will change it. Any other even half competent Democrat leader would of walked an election against Trump easily. FFS the gut said four or five things a week during that campaign that would of torpedoed anyone else's campaign and still Clinton lost! She is 100% the reason Donald Trump is President of the United States.

I think the racism and backlash to Obama is what sewed the seed. Trump simply poured the water with his birther crap. Yea, Clinton was a terrible candidate but she should have been beaten by the likes of John Kasich.

@LinekersLegs @DanEFC92 @abelard I notice yous (among others) post a lot in this thread and it's always negative towards Trump. Have any of you also pro-actively posted about the above story? Or do you have any comment on it?

@abelard had a very informative post on the matter. We agree on several points, I believe. Here's an illustration of what Trump does with those tweets:

and - who is 2017's Democratic Woman of the Year?

Great post, Ruairi. While there's room for debate in a few of these, others are pretty cast-iron and damning for Trump.

Do you think this is intentional leadership or is the Trump Doctrine merely chaos?
Thanks man,
As I was typing I realized a few were open to debate.
I think what we see on twitter is Trump, I think none of his policy stuff is him. There are a whole lot of unsavory types in DC making hay while the sun shines and as long as Trump continues to keep the media gaze off them with his stupid tweets, the better for them.
So I think it's intentional chaos and trump is an unwitting puppet.
A very dangerous game to play.
I also think Mike Pence has a huge part to play in all of this.

Aye, it's very much Bush Jr again when the shots were called by those around him (poison like Cheney & Rumsfeld). Interesting theory of yours that Trump's tweets are a tactic (however intentional) to take the attention away from his men.

Well, this tactic is certainly working! I said earlier the mainstream media, and the many thousands of anti-Trump online commenters, are paying him far too much attention. Your theory is the best reason why this should calm down that I've heard yet.

It should calm down by any normal standards, but theres nothing normal about all of this.
Manafort will go to trial next April. It could be the end for Trump and Pence next Summer. After the way the republicans dragged the supreme court pick, there could be a very interesting mid term where we are essentially trying to vote the majority party in to the house so they can select their speaker/president. Electing the reps who then select the leader, how very British of us!
(open to correction on any and all of this :) )

valiant effort, but he's not worth it mate. it's like punching water... as soon as you withdraw your fist, it just flows right back in

Another problem in modern debating is dismissing your opponent before he has even replied.

It betrays an absolute faith in one's own opinion and total rejection of a dissenting view.

Black-&-whiteism. The bane of diplomacy.

I personally just think he's a narcissistic sociopath and a disgusting human. I've never see or heard anything else to convince me otherwise. It's nothing to do with any media bias.

Trump's business has always been branding, much as he isn't responsible for the construction of the buildings bearing his name, neither is he responsible for the content of his Presidency, it merely bears his name.

The Russian's have a phrase поле́зная идио́тка, "useful idiot". The application here is quite apt, Trump is not a sophisticated man, he has never needed to be; it is entirely possible that Trump absolutely believes that he is in control, and certainly wants to.

That isn't to say that Trump is Russia's useful idiot, I'm not entirely sure they ever thought Trump could win - they were just working to weaken Clinton's eventual "inevitable" Presidency. I suspect he is a little too volatile for such a considered strategist as Putin.

However, he is remarkably useful for those around his administration as an ablative shield while they strip away restrictive legislation in the US; the repeal of environmental regulations, exit from the Paris accord, the 'opportunities' around health insurance from the repeal of the ACA and so forth... all of these are "good for business" if not for the American people.
