I mean all these arguments about the migrant crisis are fine and everyone has their opinion. I'd just ponder the question would your viewpoint change if your policy directly destroyed the lives of your loved ones?

Just as long as it's your fellow countrymen that suffer that's alright is it?

Behave. Most people recognise the scale of the risks of immigration versus the benefits immigration brings, economically and in humanitarian terms. Even if the benefits are questionable by some (not by me) we have a moral obligation to look after our fellow humans. We who live in relative prosperity and security must extend our privileges to those fleeing war and insecurity.

Do you reckon we should ban cars too? They kill more people than Syrian refugees.

Or I suppose you could pin it on drivers - should we ban them all?

No of course not, because by and large, the vast majority do no harm whatsoever.

Ban the Irish as well, they could be part of the real IRA for what we know.

He seems to forget the Syrian war has been going on for years and we will have plans in place to have them vetted because we have agreed to accept a specific number already. He just can't fathom that out and is more concerned about the terrorists being so called refugees to carry on fueling his hate for them.

It's sad that in tragedy people look and spin it to their agenda and forget that millions of people have had everything destroyed and taken from them.

The fact that you asked the question demonstrates your complete lack of understanding of what the purpose of the Electoral College is and why our founding fathers created it.

i expect @mezzrow will set me straight soon enough

Aye, the sudden hatred of the electoral college was always going to be a predictable result of this election. It's a good system and factors all the individual personalities of each state instead of letting massive cities vote democrats into power forever.

Nah.

I'd rather NY, LA, Chicago, SF, and Houston decide who the president is going to be for the rest of the country every four years.

I don't remember the IRA flying planes into buildings in New York, or wiping out kids in a school in Russia....Or blowing up lorries packed with explosives in a Baghdad bazaar, or murdering tourists in Tunisia & Egypt, or kidnapping young girls in Nigeria, or selling women into sexual slavery in Kyrgyzstan, Somalia & Pakistan, or beheading people and posting it on social media...et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

But that's just my spin on it.

It's a legitimate question, not one to scoff at. Would you change your opinion if it were your loved one who suffered as a direct result of your migrant policy?

What number number of British victims would be acceptable to you? We've seen it in Germany with Merkel's disastrous migrant policy. We've seen it in France.

To me, one British victim is too many. I don't think we can accurately screen these migrants. And therefore there is a risk.

If I wouldn't risk my own family being harmed I'm not going to risk my fellow countrymen's family being harmed.

I've said I'd like to find other ways to help.

We do extend our privileges but we shouldn't put our national security at risk and in allowing tens of thousands in to the country. Don't they want to stand and fight for there country like what our grandfathers done which has give us our privileges.
