By the way, what does 'Barbarism' mean to you? To me, it's a lack of or abnegation of culture, an out and out renouncement. Which doesn't fit at all with what we are seeing; an evolution, a development in thought; exclusive to inclusive, rejection to acceptance, hate to love. As schmaltsy and idealistic as it sounds, it's what's happening. Only the blinkered don't want to see that.

Trump has yet to name a head of FEMA or NOAA although that may mean the person in charge is career tract not political/appointed so maybe they know what they are doing.

As you say nobody at NOAA though and seems like going to underfund the agency which will significantly reduce their abaility to help forecast.

War is not some philosophical debate between like minded liberals over a glass of wine, war involves the killing of a great many soldiers who are doing the bidding of the same liberal minded politicians.
