Yep. I'm of the opinion that whoever vote's a leader in should have their vote respected, warts and all. But this affects us all and it's an existential issue now for humanity.
I have faith that the Yanks will do the right thing here. God help us if they dont.

The only thing that makes me comfortable is that it's clear the government and our armed forces don't respect Trump at all and are just biding their time until this whole nightmare ends. I just cannot see our military doing whatever he says. We'll have a coup d'etat led by the military before Trump uses the nuclear option.

Yes, and you can see from that it was on the basis of avoiding a disastrous all out war with that power. That's been the case, as relations would have got much worse with the Putin regime under Clinton.
But now he's taken a maverick stance on North Korea and we cant afford a POTUS even making statements about fire and fury like the world has never seen, much less acting on it.
He needs shutting down, and he needs shutting down now.
Oh I don't disagree with the last paragraph not at all , it's the idea that anybody could have picked him ahead of Hilary to win and then be surprised that they got that I struggle with . I'm sorry but a lot of us saw this is what the future held when he told the world he supported torture , wanted to bomb Isis to oblivion and advocated executing terrorists families . All of the previous I pointed out to you in debate when you backed him , you responded by saying :

In reality in my opinion you got it badly badly wrong , whether it was because of a desire to be obtuse or because you actually believed it I've no idea . The election of trump has been terrible , for the US and it's image around the world but also for the security of the rest of us .
People voted for him and he won the election , people I suppose like you who "wanted him to win" and the US and us in the greater world have got to live with that and hope we can get through the next few years without anything cataclysmic happening . Impeachment despite everything sadly seems a long way away , whether that changes after 2018 who knows.
