Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

NPR had interviews with Trump supporters in Pennsylvania regarding the email chains...comments to the effect of who cares that the dirt was coming from Russia, get it and use it.

It's a win at any costs, me first, I got mine so screw you attitude (not exclusive to Republicans or Trump supporters) that is prevalent in society.

We are far from a perfect country and politically we certainly have issues but I believe all this would bring down a government in a heartbeat, not even a debate . Surely The country would demand it , I'd be amazed if the outcry didn't lead to unprecedented civil protest .

yup, been living here for almost 10 years and I can't get my head around the unwillingness to strike or protest in any way other than a fully organized sanctioned way. In any other country, the government would have fallen by now, here, the best we can hope for is Mike Pence to become POTUS.
We'll trundle on to the next smoking gun, everyone will be outraged for 12 hrs and move on.
"the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before"

With the swearing in of this clown, it is proof that politics for the general masses has truly become nothing more than Sport. The government is so large, and its impacts on an individual so abstract, that people generally cannot comprehend it's failure. So with seemingly nothing real to lose (see Rome, etc) society in general has turned it into a circus. They root for whoever their "team" is. And we got a game show host as president as a result.

Any impeachment/treason news lads?

Nope... this will all trickle out for a long time (whatever it is)... I think the whole Watergate scandal took like 2 years before it came full circle..

I also can't see a Republican House voting to impeach a sitting Republican President (regardless of how deep this goes - unless the public outcry would be so huge to mean anything but that would call for the end of these sitting Reps)

Dems will also try to continue to use Russia as a smokescreen, and not actually put forward a cohesive economic vision for their party for 2020 and will also likely run another Establishment Dem and then wonder why they lost come 2021

Some would, but Trump was not wholly wrong when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of Times Square and not lose support.

If you don't believe that, I'll introduce to my family.

Well said Lisa

In a closed-door meeting of Senate Republican chairmen Wednesday, Lisa Murkowski ripped GOP leaders’ attempt to scale back Medicaid spending in their Obamacare repeal bill.

The two matters were unrelated, she argued, because Obamacare did not change Medicaid spending levels across the entire program. The independent-minded Alaska senator was backed up by Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota, a Republican generally aligned with leadership, according to senators and people familiar with the conversations.

“The ACA allowed for Medicaid expansion. The ACA didn’t address traditional Medicaid. … Why do we not focus on the urgency of the concerns with the ACA?” she said in an interview afterward. “Let’s deal with the urgency of the issue. Let’s set Medicaid off to the side.”
