Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

At what point do you start 'annoying Trump' by condemning his actions and risk him ending that status though? We have no idea how bad it will get or how far he will go. I'm not saying now is the time, but it might get to that point.
Now is the time in my opinion, but I'm not going to pretend that it's not without risk, nor is it without pain.

The thing with a governmental official though, is they shouldn't be making these decisions from their own morality, but from the morality and scenario of those they represent. I don't disagree with your ideas. I mostly had a problem with the idea that trade deals should be scoffed at over morality. That's precisely the line of thinking that emboldens the right, because they (often correctly) are looking at the economic outcomes of such policies with the understanding that everyone is affected by the economy, not just those protesting or those disagreeing.

In this case, I think it's time that people that believe in human decency should be stepping up. They should be protesting, and annoying Trump. And that includes politicians!

But everyone has something to lose, and with your own Brexit, losing the US as a trade ally may well be a terrible decision for a large number of British citizens...I respect the choice to not risk that. Sometimes a decision made with the best intentions leads to more suffering all around. This could easily be a case like that.

OK so when he was running he wanted a Muslim ban, now he says it's not a muslim ban. Which bit of honesty do you want, the bit where he said he'd jail Clinton or the bit where he said he'd make Mexico pay for his wall.

TBF I think Mexico will end up paying for the wall, and if he put Clinton in prison half the world would rejoice.......

I think there is something to be said for this Sean. In 6 months when the immigration ban has blown over, if we've cancelled the state visit then Trump is the sort who will throw his toys out of the pram and bear a grudge.

You might well say we shouldn't pander to his sociopathic tendencies, but the USA are as important as ever to us with Brexit round the corner and also for national security reasons.

I would still speak out to say that I don't agree on the policy, but not sure what is to be achieved by cancelling the visit at this stage. Let's see how things unfold.

Fortunately May is a bit more grown up than Corbyn and the visit will go ahead........

Trump by the way is going to be a crap president. Very crap. But I'm struggling to find a leader anywhere in the world these days who I actually like and think is competent, and in touch with the public.

Why are people surprised he's doing these things. He's a loose cannon. He was never gonna back down
I blame the irony fetish of our times for a lot of people being surprised.

We adore trolling and saying things we don't mean. It's most of our comedy - pushing lines that are really horrifying if you give them thought, but we don't, because we all know that it's just a joke. No one actually believes that stuff, right?

Wrong. There are bad people out there too, and you need to be able to tell the difference between comedy and reality. And we've become very, very bad at telling the difference.

Great post, totally agree with this.
