Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has said no duel nationality Brits will be affected by Donald Trump's 'Muslim ban' unless they travel to the US directly from one of the seven 'blacklisted' countries......

If you have visited Israel and had a stamp in your passport, you will not be allowed to enter Iran or many other Arab countries. Most business people have two passports for this very reason......can't remember any marches or twittersphere outrage.....but I would love to hear people's views on this.......

This is the problem I keep raising about EO's, they are simple bits of paper with no real detail because they do not affect law and just tell US government agencies what the president wants......shambles......

I just find the reality of the bloke in real power, swinging from the hip, banning random countries (that he has no business interests in), to "appeal" to a certain audience, unnerving.

If you are comfortable with him as the POTUS, with the global responsabilty that comes with that, then fine. I am less sure.

Russia had tried to get England and France to step in when Germany began overtures at Czechaslovakia and then invaded Finland after it was clear England and France were not going to intervene.

In fact I'm pretty sure they only joined the league of nations when Germany began to remilitarise, and the rise of facisim in general across Europe.

I think he's an idiot, but not quite as dangerous as Hillary would have been. Someone else in this thread stated that 'the list' actually was produced under Obama. He will not lose face, but it will unravel and the UK clarification is just the start....

Israel does then same in reverse and always has done. I know Irish passport holders who have not been allowed into Israel after being in Iran. These are a acredited journalists.

Dont really follow Merican politics to know if she is better or worse than Trump.

But having an idiot in the White House surely isnt a good thing?

EO's don't have to be shambolic, depend on the level of briefings/notice that are given.

I think that even if you support this EO, which I don't, you could major reservations on how it was implemented - Sunday show spokepeople have said it was issued quickly to "surprise" terrorists but doing it late on a Friday with no detailed briefing/input of any of the agencies that apply it has surprised everyone including allies. Not to mention the ad hoc way people with valid visas including permanent residents have been treated.

Do you realise how that sounds. Russia wanted England and France to fight Germany over Czechoslovakia but then Russia decided to invade Finland instead (plus did a deal with Germany and carved up Poland and other Eastern states between them)....... god bless Russia.......the Finnfan would be all over this......
