This just isn't true. If your opinion runs counter to well-established fact, you're either in denial, unintelligent or uninformed. Most people would call all of the preceding pejorative statements insults.

Where we run into problems is when what people perceive to be well-established fact is, in fact, wrong. History brims with examples of that problem, but relatively few people discriminate well between 'settled' and 'best of our knowledge' results. If you're a flat-earther, well, Kepler and Newton have you covered. Gravity would behave in very interesting ways on a flat earth, which can't form through a natural process anyway largely due to gravity (to the best of our knowledge).

Your problem here is staking out a whole collocation of positions that run counter to 'settled' items, unrepentantly refusing to accept hard facts, and behaving like a provocateur whose entire objective is to radicalize the quiet people whose views sympathize with yours somewhat. I continue to believe that you know exactly what you are doing, and that you are doing this in a relatively sophisticated, unsophisticated way. The best evidence available to me suggests you have enough intellect to either learn, or give it a rest, by this point. I can't prove that, but careful observation suggests you are a 'wum', in forum parlance.
Actually it is true. I source my information from multiple sources from all over the political spectrum. I and anyone that therefore shares my opinions cannot be in denial, unintelligent or uninformed...

There's corruption in every government above a certain (very small) size, due to the amount of money involved and the absence of infinite time with which to monitor behavior. Over here, Citizens United sent things in the federal government to levels not seen since the days of Harding. If it weren't a problem, we wouldn't need things like the Pendleton Act (ended the federal patronage system), the Sherman and Clayton Acts, and the Hatch Act.

We tolerate a certain level of background noise because we know it's impossible to stamp it all out. Truman and Carter were among the cleanest presidents since World War II. It's probably not a coincidence that Schlesinger once said they were the ones that never cheated on their spouses while in office, as far as he knew (and he was as well-informed as anyone). This is one reason that "grab 'em by the -----" was such a giant red flag.

Some governments and presidents are bigger pigs about it than others. Unscrupulous people on both sides of the aisle have used this to flog their opponents ever since Watergate, with varying degrees of success. Odds are, anyone who has ever chaired Appropriations or Ways and Means for long is astonishingly dirty, but this also means the bar to clear before it becomes a story of interest is higher.

The fact that no one has managed to hang anything on Biden after all these years is strong evidence that he's probably cleaner than most. He's pushed that image hard over the years, claiming we know he's clean because he rode Amtrak home along with Joe Sixpack every weekend. That straps a giant target to a politician's chest, in much the same way that Bob Packwood was brought down for things that had been tolerated for generations because he had such a strong women's rights voting record. Nothing draws the attention of media flies quite like blatant hypocrisy.
There’s corruption and there’s corruption
Bidens tenure seems to harbour little of note. If there was it would be well publicised I’m sure

yea, arguing with trump supporters years ago was kinda baffling and depressing.
Now it's just kinda silly. (and still a bit depressing)
It's a testament to the fact that, in my opinion, a strong case can be made that most everyone at Fox News should be locked up under 18 U.S. Code 2385 for 'advocating overthrow of government'.

The only reason we don't do this, again in my opinion, is certain democratic norms. I would vote to convict, just on the evidence in the public record. God only knows what a subpoena or discovery would find, which is why Fox had to settle with Dominion. I also would not bet that I could drag eleven people off the street along with me even with what would be uncovered, and I think I'm about as well equipped to make the argument as anybody.

You can stake out that hill from a philosophy of science standpoint, but you're nearly alone in dying on it. Positivism has accumulated a rather large stack of empirical evidence going for it, over the centuries. This is why the Church became so angry at Galileo, as well as why the Presbyterians considered excommunicating Hume. They knew they were covered on reason, and therefore reduced to coercive options.

One day soon there will be a Panama papers style expose. 'The truth will out', and it seems quite often does, much to the chagrin of the shysters and spivs.

(Edit: I'm suddenly aware that there may well have been 'documents in the dunny' (@perth_blue) regards a potential invasion of Panama, if so this was purely accidental)

Yeah cos all the MSM are totally impartial.

Just yesterday.

351 minutes of Trump driving to court.

0 minutes of Biden £5million bribe enquiry.

🤣 🤣 🤣 #brainwashed
what happened in that Biden enquiry yesterday?
honestly.
Because the first ex president turning up to court for federal charges was huge news.
Showing footage of cars driving places is what cable news does,
Remember Trump going to meet Kim in Singapore?

That just shows how closed minded you are. That you can't be persuaded from your own intractable beliefs despite having not heard both sides of an argument (and you attempted to accuse us of being uninformed, in denial and unintelligent). You go on criticise the church, but it looks like you that has religious convictions - they're just weirdly towards 'wanting to lockup everyone at Fox News'. Perhaps you need to have a moment of reflection yourself ....
