Hamstrung = 'severely restrict the efficiency or effectiveness of'.

I didn't say scandals are limited to aides or lawyers. One of Trump's strengths is an ability to communicate. You don't even have to agree with me on this. The Presidency is called the Bully Pulpit for good reason. It's a massive advantage for any President. I'd say in Presidential press conference after press conference Trump was forced to address Russia gate. Wasted time & resources he could have used elsewhere. In speech after speech he had to address the subject. This is the public Trump. That's before we get to the no doubt many, many hours Russiagate required of him privately. There is little correlation between the number of golf outings and effectiveness of a President. Some of the perceived laziest modern President's have been the most effective - Eisenhower and Reagan spring to mind. President's do require some down time, no?

But again, all speculation on your part. You did it above (and also see below). I just would prefer to see some evidence. But in any case, with respect to speech after speech, these were almost invariably rallies of his own choosing. Remember when he'd fly to Tulsa or Phoenix or some such and have a rally while decrying witch hunt. These were on his own volition, and he never said anything of substance here, except to say things like "witch hunt" "Hilary" etc. This was not a drain on his resources as he wasn't compelled to congress--he just chose to do it.

You can do a search of the all of Trump's remarks and exchanges with reporters at the American Presidency Project (I've provided a screen shot to show you what you will find--each "Remarks" can be click on to find its content). You can even do searches of key words for all of Trump's press conferences, exchanges with reporters, interviews, press releases...and when I did this, I couldn't seem to find much mention of Russia, Mueller, etc. So I don't really see how, in speech after speech, he had to address the subject.

More speculation here:
can we at least accept it required a significant amount of time & resources for the administration to fight the allegations during much of the first three years of Trump's Presidency? I brought up Watergate as it broadly resembles the Russiagate debacle. I could have brought up Iran/Contra or the Clinton sex scandals. None of these scandals made it easier for the respective administrations to function. Can we at least agree on this?

More speculation here:
I don't think I have even mentioned legality or illegality of what the FBI did in my comments. You are the one hung up on that issue. My point has always been about corruption. And if I know anything about corruption( whether it be in government, bureaucratic or private enterprise) it's that the vast majority of it goes unpunished. 'Its not at all clear to me' is about a nothing a statement as you can get.

Also, I forgot to mention that Comey, Strzok and numerous other FBI officials refused to talk with Durham. As is their right. However, don't preach to me about little proven illegality when many of those involved refused to even help the investigation. Nope. No stonewalling going on at the FBI.

Of course they have a legal right not to be re-investigated.

But again, more speculation on your part: you imply if they had been interviewed then something illegal would have turned up. Can you please stop doing this?

But in any case Durham is being queried for this seeming lapse in investigative procedure.

I dont get this at all.
Trump is a terrible communicator.
I couldn't make head nor tail of what he was saying.
The Mueller report found that Russia interfered in the 2016 election in a sweeping and systemic fashion.
He refused to bring any charges against Trump as he was a sitting president.
Furthermore, Trump was happy to talk about 'Russiagate' as he knew all he had to say was 'witch hunt' and he'd pile up donations from his base.
Then it was straight back to injecting light in to your veins to kill covid.

Like I said, monetizing stupidity.
