Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Merican courts take both very very seriously dont they? That said, dead tough to nail folk for it.
If the Feds choose to prosecute, they have a case. Almost nothing in the Federal criminal system goes to trial, because they rarely prosecute unless they have enough to nail the accused to the wall.

Letitia James obviously thinks she has a case, whatever Trump claims. Losing is never a good look for someone aspiring to higher office. Anything that jumps over 'preponderance of the evidence' in a civil tax/bank fraud case is likely to jump over 'beyond a reasonable doubt' in a criminal case. Trump is in a bad spot here because we're talking valuations of real property, and he has spent decades claiming to be an expert on real property transactions.

The factual misrepresentations are blatant, and it's not reasonable to suppose that Trump was unaware of the degree of the misrepresentations. Claiming that your apartment is three times larger than it is, when you deal in real estate all the time, have appraisals at hand and a fairly accurate estimate is a publicly available tax card away? The only reasonable conclusion is that the misrepresentations were fraudulent in their intent.

I think what I have been predicting for some time now has finally come to pass - Biden waited for New York to provide the fig leaf, to keep his own hands clean. He can hide behind 'equal justice under the law' in directing the Southern District to do what must be done, given the information provided to them. If Justice or the IRS runs the investigation themselves, it looks politically motivated. This way, it's the outgrowth of the work of an ambitious state prosecutor with a case.

I honestly wonder if Democrats are stringing him along at this point.
If the fire gets too hot maybe he'll seek to hide behind presidential immunity.
I think the Dems would love to see him run again, either unchallenged or in a primary with the likes fo Abbott and DeSantis.
If he drops out, much smarter people will mop up his support without having to incur his wrath.
They'll likely turn the heat up enough to make them competitive in the midterms and then a wee bit more to get him to announce a run for 2024.

Could be. Would his opponents in the primaries use this as ammunition to help themselves?
Would be damned good television, that's for sure
