Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

There has been an obvious and clear degeneracy in politics, not just in America - but across the western world. Trump is a symptom of this, not the cause.

The cause is an increasingly right-wing mainstream media, where a dangerous and hate-filled narrative has been carefully built over the past three decades in order to fill column inches and sell advertising space.

I agree 100% that the system is rigged, but please understand that it is not the fault of immigration, the NHS, the old, the disabled, the people that have chose to take up their right of social welfare - or even Trump supporters.

It is the fault of the new elite. The likes of Farage, Trump, Banks, Murdoch, Gove and Desmond. As they get richer and more powerful, we the people are losing out on opportunity and aspiration.

The thing that hurts the most is that it's these very elite of whom have now assumed the roles are power-brokers. People are falling into their traps, and we're seemingly allowing it to happen.
And yet people have voted for Trump in the belief that he's the "champion of the little guy". And they're STILL buying that, even when he's busily stacking his cabinet with billionaires and bankers.

It's a hell of a trick that he's pulled.

If you look behind the racism, misogyny and hatred, his message was akin to that of Sanders.

It's just I know for a fact that the people that needed change the most aren't going to get it, and the shafting will continue - but this time without lube.

Sort of - Sanders annoyingly did a lot of damage to Clinton, because he used basically the same message to erode trust in her that Trump later picked up and ran with.

The difference is Sanders actually had definitive ideas on what to do - whereas Trump to this day still hasn't shown anything like a coherent plan for how he's going to actually accomplish anything.

Also, I object to this new narrative of "if you look behind the racism, misogyny and hate"... or "don't listen to what he says, look at what's in his heart"... The stuff he's said should have disqualified him from ANY chance of winning an election, and it's a depressing state of affairs that he was able to win.

Think it's a bit sad that all those on the 'losing' side...while usually respecting the office of the Pres, can't get past the man...or is it the fact that
'He' beat them, not the republicans and many have threw their toys out the pram over the Inaugreation

Certain men don't deserve respect, due to their words and actions. It's not some plucked-out-the-air dislike that the "losing" side are holding a grudge about. It's not even (by and large) a disagreement over policy issues (though some of his stated policies are horrendous too).

The man is a racist, a misogynist and a demagogue, who is woefully ill-equipped to hold that office. Not only that, but he shows no interest in learning. He has fanned flames of discrimination and hatred, mixing them with lies and empty promises to con his way into the most important job in the world.

So no, I for one can't "get past the man", and nor in my opinion should anyone else.

Sounds like your typical top political office seeker - get over it, the world won't end, like all the others, he'll achieve next to nothing and leave his problems to the next guy or girl.

Fair point but....

others have much more admirable words and actions but then we find out they were paedophiles (several British politicians) or cause such immense damage in the middle east that hundreds of thousands die and decades of misery are caused (Bush/Blair).

So...IMO issue is more complex or nuanced than what you say

Is this any different form Bush/Rumsfeld etc?
