I would much rather for Trump to face a conviction and go to jail. But if not, then inflicting pain where it hurts him the most: his wealth, his pride and his ambition to become President, would also be worthy!

“Mr. Trump has escaped numerous law enforcement inquiries over the better part of three decades, and he could well do so again. Even so, the case brought by Mr. Vance on Thursday has already struck at the heart of Mr. Trump’s public image — the business of the businessman — in a way no other investigation has done.

The fallout could be significant. An indictment against a company — let alone a conviction — can jeopardize relationships with banks and business partners. The former president is facing down hundreds of millions of dollars in loans that need to be repaid, and the legal threat to his business could deal a blow to his finances.

And the charges could play into Mr. Trump’s decisions about his political future

I’ve been reading a book recently that pointed out something that may likely be going on here. It’s apparently standard procedure in high level investigations like this to initially go after people who are a few rungs from the top of an organization as opposed to the very top guys. It’s usually easier to find tangible evidence of wrongdoing from these level of people, but they are also far enough up that they oftentimes do have the dirt on the big fish. They’re generally wealthy, pampered white men who find the thought of prison terrifying, so they’re also the easiest people to get to cut deals with for testimony.

I’m sure that’s the case. Allen Weisselberg has been working for the Trump organization for decades and him being the chief financial officer and accountant, he probably knows all the dirt and tricks that has been used to keep the Trump organization from paying their fair share of taxes plus all the ploys to make Trump’s assets more valuable than they are. Hopefully he thinks about himself and his family and turns on him but for what I have read Weisselberg is very loyal to Trump. But so was Michael Cohen who once claimed he would take a bullet for Trump and look where he is at now. He has become one of Trumps biggest antagonizers. So there may be hope for Allen too lol

TBF he is right - there really is not anyone (from fiction or history) who would take the 45% of the electorate that Trump owns away.

Imagine the post-Independence Day film situation where Trump is up against Bill Pullman, fresh from shooting down all the aliens. Would anyone here put money on the fighter pilot when millions of Democrat voters in the cities have been killed and Pullman has nuked Houston? We'd all be waking up one morning to find Trump (or Flaarg the Destroyer as he would no doubt have been revealed to be) back in the Oval Office.
