Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Then why are they not calling these people as witnesses?
I think it is because of the experience of the first impeachment. Many of those closest to Trump refused to testify then, to make them do so would have involved a long drawn out legal process.

I don’t know if McCarthy would be a legally in a different position as he wasn’t part of the White House but since Kevin went groveling to Mar A Lago recently as well as not voting to impeach he’s likely to throw up every single roadblock he could, honestly wouldn’t rule out him refusing to speak if they did get him on the stand.

Assume it is a balance - how long do you tilt at windmills trying to get GOP to admit what Trump did versus focus on other urgent business to get Biden appointments in place, COVID measures passed and other policy goals.

It's a bit different tho these days since I would think a subpoena means an ACTUAL a subpoena regardless of your position I would think. Bit different when you controlled 2/3 branches than 0. Would refusing a subpoena not mean a straight up contempt charge? Win/win, McCarthy the little pos is gone.

I’m unclear on when a contempt charge can be brought for refusing to testify, despite Trump admin making me far more aware of other arcane processes I was previously in blissful ignorance of!

Watching this defense, I'd have thought it was straight from some QAnon website or Breitbart or something.

All whataboutism. All racist code. All deflection and making comparisons that aren't even the same sport let alone the same ballpark. All fiery yelling, except for this dude from Pennsylvania.

Simply ridiculous
I didn't watch it but instead chose to hear it on NPR but those lawyers definitely sounded like racist thugs, their nonsense arguments were embarrassing too, how can people this stupid become lawyers. Their defense arguments were laughable but not matter how terrible they were, we already know that Republicans in the Senate are too coward to convict Trump.

Per Wikipedia (h/t Damon), congress can charge contempt of Congress for failure to appear in congress or supply requested materials. It has to go before the full Senate and I didn't see if a simple majority was sufficient.
