Any guesses for how many are sincere in their belief of constitutional limitations?
Block a hearing while he is still President, then say it is unconstitutional afterwards so can’t convict then.
mmm. History will judge them.

As with much of the QAnon movement, the 1871 conspiracy theory was revived and repurposed from a previous conspiracy theory relating to the sovereign citizens movement, a group of Americans who viewed the government as illegitimate, and who thus believed they were free to ignore its statutes. And much like with QAnon, the FBI has designated the sovereign citizens as a domestic terrorist threat.
As March 4 approaches, the Trump International Hotel in D.C. hiked its prices for suite bookings close to that date. Some rooms are selling for $1,331 per night, up 180 percent from the standard rate in March, according to Forbes. This form of opportunistic marketing is another example of how Trump and his affiliates have leveraged QAnon
It is a bit crazy. Seems that people have no principles. I’d imagine republicans can point to the Clinton impeachment as a precedent for partisan voting.I just don't understand this whole process. How could it ever be impartial when they're clearly always going to vote down party lines. Seems pointless and a complete farce to me.
I think it is done more for public opinion and trying to sway voters.I just don't understand this whole process. How could it ever be impartial when they're clearly always going to vote down party lines. Seems pointless and a complete farce to me.

Not remotely comparable, really. It is a bit crazy. Seems that people have no principles. I’d imagine republicans can point to the Clinton impeachment as a precedent for partisan voting.
Can any American posters confirm whether this is the case?
Yep, can vote aye/nay/present.It's a very convenient excuse.
Actual question....Is it possible to vote "present" at an impeachment trial as it is for other senate votes? If so, I would expect all these GOPs to vote present instead of not guilty.

Indeed, and it will polarise the USA even more ... sad really........
Yep, can vote aye/nay/present.
But if vote ”present” their vote counts as a ”nay” in terms of the numbers - two thirds of the senators in the session need to vote aye for conviction.
I’ll be surprised if more than 5 Republicans vote ayeTrue. Not sure why I'm fussed. Think we all already know the outcome of this
