This is why they were so disappointed on the constitutionality question. They were hoping to punt on this, now they have to sit and get dunked on for several days, something where really there is no defense for Trump's actions.
I actually think we will see more than 6 republicans vote to convict. Not sure we will get 17, but I think the House's arguments are so compelling, so complete, so disparate from how other Republicans have gone on record on this issue (even McConnell saying the election fraud was a big lie), that some of them will eventually realize it's too damaging to the country (and to the GOP long term) to not do something about it.
At least I can dream
