Are you actually a Trump apologist, Holliday? Looks like I gave you too much credit.

Hiya Clint, i look at things from both sides and mostly both are as bad (and as good) as each other. when i do this i invariably get one side or the other label me something: "Trump apologist", for example. I've had all the labels over the years, from "Obama-lover" to "nazi racist" to "apologist for rape" to "white knight saviour" to "islam apologist" to "islamaphobe" to "multi-kulti handclapper" to "Putinbot" and all the rest.

My views are consistent, it's just that they belong to me and not any one tribe.

your post is a reply to my linking Goldberg's book which mostly deals with how the Left shut down debate by decrying opposition as "fascists", which is in itself fascist behaviour. As you tried to shut down Trump in that way yourself i thought it was fitting to show that to other perspectives it is you who's the fascist apologist (if we must use labels).

check out Goldberg's round with Jon Stewart, should be online somewhere.

He declared war on everything.

The lefty echo chambers some people are in is astounding.

It is incredible. There are intelligent, prominent people going around openly saying that white people / their racism are to blame for Trump winning. When Van Jones came out with it on election night, I thought it was just one man saying something a bit dumb without the benefit of a script or hindsight - but if anything it seems to have been the dominant response from much of the commentariat:

It is a bit mad that the response to Trumps' win is to ape his tactic of blaming a specific race for it. It is even madder that many of the people doing the blaming are themselves white, and were prominent in supporting a white candidate in the election.

Careful, now.

"On Friday a racist social media group called “Mud Men” was created at the University of Pennsylvania, using the messaging app GroupMe. Every black member of the freshman class was apparently added to the group. Its anonymous creator(s) announced an event called Daily Lynching for Nov. 17. Beneath that announcement were posted images of black people being harassed, tortured, and abused. A user going by “Daddy Trump” wrote: “Like this if you’re a porch monkey.” A user named “GORT” wrote: “message Heil Trump” and “never be a [Poor language removed] in SAE.”

Don't forget "Kopite "

I'm having a few running battles on Facebook with normally controlled friends who are genuinely aghast at all this and behaving in quite surprising ways. I was almost laughed out of the pub a few weeks back when I suggested that the Don was a more electable candidate than Hillary and the better choice for the US. Soz abar me

They were normally controlled because it was their guy in office. Didn't matter he accomplished zero, it was their guy. Now it isn't and they're no longer "normally controlled."
