It's almost as if they were surprised that their campaign tactic of calling everyone racists and misogynists didn't work
every 8 years or so there's this big push for 'change' and talk of a massive 'rebuilding' job...same rhetoric after Reagan/Bush, then same again after Clinton, Then again after Bush Jr with Obama's big 'time for change' spiel...and lo here we are again.

I was almost laughed out of the pub a few weeks back when I suggested that the Don was a more electable candidate than Hillary and the better choice for the US. Soz abar me
And people fall for it time after time, how, any history lessons to people need?I sometimes fear that
people think that fascism arrives in fancy dress
worn by grotesques and monsters
as played out in endless re-runs of the Nazis.
Fascism arrives as your friend.
It will restore your honour,
make you feel proud,
protect your house,
give you a job,
clean up the neighbourhood,
remind you of how great you once were,
clear out the venal and the corrupt,
remove anything you feel is unlike you...
It doesn't walk in saying,
"Our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

And utterly vile. There really are echoes of Germany (and Britain, for that matter) in the 30s.
