I’d love to agree with you, but the opposite is probably true - if 2018 and 2020 elections show us nothing else, it’s that the far right won’t support a RINO party, so that party would lose elections consistently thanks to 10-20% of it’s support not turning out.

This report on American values and democracy from the Trump administration is as bad and laughable as you might expect. It is truly embarrassing in that old-timey Abe Simpson yell-at-the-TV about the good ole days (which actually never happened) and all the fake threats to America. The report devotes a weird amount of space to identity politics and shoe-horns "progressivism" and "identity politics" along with "fascism" and "communism" as the major threats to America. It also preaches "rule of law." It's very ironic reading about fascism and "rule of law" from an administration where Trump is in charge.

I'd genuinely have more time for these peoples opinions if they could articulate what it is they are scared of happening. You never get any answer from them at all. I remember reading an article in the The New Satesman re-Brexit, in which the author recalled the many times he was confronted with Brexiteers spouting this usual rhetoric.
In each occasion he let them finish then asked politely, "So which actual EU rule or regulation directly affects you or your family or your community?"
As you can imagine, this was met with further hyperbole, delusional nonsense and downright lies, before being followed by righteous indignation that someone could possibly challenge their views/beliefs.

Nobody gave an actual legitimate answer... Trumpers all over again.

The cynic in me honestly believes it is as an attempt to put the US under greater Covid strain by inviting more cases and strains.
