Turnout has been poor for a long time in this country. 2008 was the highest voter turnout since the 60's and it was only 58.2% turnout.

It is one of the many flaws of the electoral college.

If you live in California and are a conservative, why even bother? If you live in Alabama and are a liberal it's a waste of time.

It really isn't a waste of time, but many people feel their votes don't matter because it's a foregone conclusion which way their state is going to vote.

yeah thats a massive problem,you have the same problem in britain with safe seats ...but not to that extent,dont understand why they dont at least break up the states into smaller electoral colleges

It's somewhat ironic that this has turned into a debate about race, indicating that a large reason of why Trump was elected was an inherit belief in white supremacy.

It's also pretty evident that we sadly have a few of these people on this forum, judging by some of the vile Twitter DM's I'm getting from Egg Accounts surrounding what I posted earlier on in the week. The thing is, the Ale House is private - only GOT members can join and I've never spoken about it elsewhere.

The sad thing is, I agree with everything Trump says - to a point. The system is rigged.

But it's not rigged because of Muslims.

It's not rigged because of Mexicans.

It's not not rigged because of Feminism.

It's not rigged because of CNN.

It's rigged because a select few elites (Trump, Banks, Farage, Gove, Murdoch...) aren't willing to redistribute their slice of the pie. They'd rather use what power they have to turn us, the people, against one another.

If we don't sit up and take note soon, things will get worse. I promise you that.

I think this will be trump as president in a nutshell, all the media bought off to paint him in a bad light all the time no matter how good he may well be doing. If he bombs a massive terrorist camp, the media will talk about the 2 civilians killed, he lowers tax, made to look like he is profiting etc.

I'm talking about the zero news stories positive spins on anything he does. Picking one thing out doesn't disprove what i mean.

Especially for the fact more of his country wanted him than the other candidate as well but the man seems to have bought the election at a silent auction and therefore the media run any and every bad spin they can on him.

He may create some negative himself, but i am talking about a blanket of negativity throughout the media when there doesn't need to be. Almost like it is just an agenda against the president of the united states, almost like it is motivated by other powers....
