Why do you suppose the parents haven't tried to reclaim their children?

Perhaps they are the poorest of the poor destitute humans that were seeking asylum in the hope of giving their children a better life? Since the parents were deported I would imagine they don't have the means.

I would also suggest there is a good chance they have tried to reclaim their children but have been met with a wall of resistance they can't overcome...I would not put it past Miller to whisper in Trump's ear that making an example of of a few would likely deter others.

They aren’t airline lost property that there is a recognized procedure for - the courts had to order that the parents were contacted by third parties who have limited resources and reach.

Given that the federal government couldn’t even be arsed to set it in motion themselves how much of the substantive help that they could provide do you think they are providing - they after all are the bastards that seperated them in the first place.

You also appear to have missed this “Gelernt said some of the families contacted have elected to keep their children in the U.S. with a family member or sponsor "due to fear of what will happen to their child if they return" to their home countries.” If your choice is your kid being killed or abandoned then you are going to choose the latter but it is gross that we force anyone to make such a horrendous decision.

That I don't understand why the parents haven't reclaimed their children. Presumably, they think it either benefits them or the kids by not doing so. Why else wouldn't you?
