The University of Utah, that well-known bastion of progressive liberalism, changed the nickname of its sports teams from "Redskins" to "Utes" in 1972 given the former is offensive. The latter honors the name of the state and is used by permission of the tribe.

It’s about cultural appropriation. White men commited mass genocide on these people and then use a watered down version of their culture to make money. There are no Christian German sports teams that use Jewish symbols as logos or names.
